Elio wandered down the dimly lit street, his wide eyes taking in the graffiti-covered walls and the cracked pavement beneath his feet. He had always been fascinated by the world outside his small bubble, and today was no different. Everything seemed like an adventure to him, even the parts of town that most people avoided.

He was so engrossed in the sights and sounds around him that he didn't notice the man who had been watching him from across the street. The man, with his greasy hair slicked back and a permanent scowl etched on his face, saw an easy target in the naïve young man. He stomped over, his heavy boots echoing off the nearby buildings.

"Hey, kid!" the man barked, his voice rough and gravelly. Elio turned to face him, his innocent smile not wavering for a second.

"Hi there!" Elio replied brightly, completely oblivious to the danger he was in.

The man eyed him up and down, sizing him up. "You lookin' to score some of the good stuff, huh?"

Elio tilted his head, confused. "The good stuff? What's that?"

The man chuckled darkly, reaching into the inside pocket of his tattered leather jacket. He pulled out a small plastic bag filled with white rocks and held it up for Elio to see. "This right here is top-quality crack, kid. Guaranteed to take you to the moon and back. Only fifty bucks."

Elio's eyes widened with curiosity. "Crack? I've never heard of that before. Is it like candy?"

The man let out a loud, cynical laugh. "Yeah, something like that. Candy for your brain, kid. Makes you feel real good."

Elio reached into his pocket, where he had some cash his sister Y/n had given him earlier. He trusted people easily, and the man didn't seem too different from anyone else he'd met.

But before he could pull out the money, a voice called out, sharp and authoritative. "Elio, stop!"

Y/n appeared at the end of the street, her eyes wide with panic as she sprinted toward them. Elio turned to her, his smile faltering as he saw the fear in her eyes.

The man frowned, taking a step back. "Who the hell is this?" he muttered, annoyed that his easy sale might be slipping away.

Y/n reached them, grabbing Elio's arm and pulling him close. Her protective instincts kicked in as she glared at the man, her voice firm. "Get away from my brother."

The man scoffed, trying to play it cool. "Hey, I'm just making a business transaction here. No harm in that."

Y/n's eyes narrowed, her tone icy. "Selling drugs to an innocent kid? You think that's harmless?"

Elio looked between the two, his confusion growing. "Y/n, what's going on? He said it was like candy..."

Y/n sighed, placing a gentle hand on Elio's shoulder. "Elio, that's not candy. It's a very dangerous drug that can hurt you really badly. You don't want anything to do with it."

Elio's eyes widened with realization and fear. "Oh... I didn't know..."

The man's face twisted into an ugly sneer. "Look, lady, why don't you mind your own damn business? The kid's old enough to make his own decisions."

Y/n stepped forward, her voice low and threatening. "And I'm old enough to make sure scum like you doesn't get away with this. Now, get lost before I call the cops."

The man's bravado faltered as he realized he wasn't going to win this one. He grumbled under his breath, stuffing the bag of crack back into his pocket. "Whatever, you're not worth the trouble."

He turned and stomped away, disappearing into the shadows of the alley.

Elio, still shaken, looked up at Y/n. "I'm sorry, Y/n. I didn't know..."

Y/n's expression softened as she wrapped her arms around him in a comforting hug. "It's okay, Elio. You didn't do anything wrong. But you have to be careful, alright? Not everyone out there is nice, and some people will try to take advantage of you."

Elio nodded, clinging to his sister as the gravity of the situation sunk in. "I'll be more careful. Thank you for saving me, Y/n."

She smiled, brushing a lock of hair away from his face. "That's what big sisters are for. Come on, let's get out of here and find somewhere safer."

As they walked away from the dark street, Elio felt a deep sense of gratitude for his sister's presence in his life. He knew he could always count on her to protect him, no matter what dangers the world might throw his way. And as long as they had each other, he knew he would be okay.
