Yuan Zong's POV

"We want to cut off the investigations, we found out who the offender is. We do not want to press any charges, because the offender is willing to pay for all the damages that he had caused. Thank you for your service, officer Yang." That's what I told the police. I told them to leave everything like it was, so I could take care of everything. The cost to repair the whole house, which also included furniture and decorations of the house. I planned on visiting the house, examining it a bit further with a whole team of workers, who were going to do the work. But I was the one who was going to pay for everything, so my boy didn't have to. There was no way in hell I would let my baby take care of such a big bill. It was going to be expensive for him, but for me, it was nothing. I could afford it and I didn't mind paying for everything, because I wanted to and didn't want Xia Yao and his mother to worry or be stressed about it.

I had to admit. I did lie to mother Xia and Xia Yao. The police really didn't find anything. Yet. But I was the one who called the whole investigations off. I had a feeling I knew who the offender was and I had a sick feeling in my gut. I didn't want to believe it, but it really made sense to me. And to be honest, I was really shocked that the police agreed to it, I thought they would ask way more questions, being way more strict with the whole process, but thankfully they didn't. If it were up to me, I would let that bastard rot in prison, for what he had done to my boy and his mother. How could a father be so cruel? Being abusive towards his own son and his wife. Mentally, emotionally and physically abusive. And yes, I did say father. I was certain, that it was Xia Yao's father behind the whole incident. I mean, come on. Who would break into a house and not steal anything, but destroy the whole place? And it made sense that it really was him. He had always treated his family bad, paying no attention to them all. He was a really irresponsible man. He did not fullfil his duties as a father and husband. He failed. And that was not something I would ever think or plan on doing in the future. And even now, I made sure that Xia Yao was spoiled rotten, treating him as if he was the most important person in my life, which, he really was. Xia Yao and Yuan Ru were all I had, all I needed in my life.

Just thinking about... that asshole doing such a horrible act to his family made me want to throw up and to straight up punch him in the face.

I needed to talk to Xia Yao about that, he needed to know. And I don't think that he had really thought this whole incident through. Being to caught up in his mother, work and even me. Maybe I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions, but I was so damn sure of it. No, I knew it. It had to be him and no one other

"Babe, can you pass me the papers that Mr. Wang had sent to us? I need them to fax his number to- Are you okay? You look so deep in thought. And you haven't even touched your coffee yet." I heard Xia Yao say, entering my office and then coming over towards me, placing himself on my lap. I wrapped my arm around his waist and placed my head on his shoulder, breathing in his comforting scent. He smelled like me, since he was wearing my shirt, again.

"Hmm. I need to talk to you later, though, alright?" Had a very concerned look on his face.

"Regarding what? You don't want to b-break up-" I immediately cut him off, not wanting him to go any further.

"No! God, no. I would never, baby." I kissed his neck and he snuggled into my chest and sighed.

"Good."

"Don't worry about it, yeah? We'll talk about it later." He nodded into my chest, his eyes closed.

"Now, don't fall asleep on me, baby."
