Xia Yao's POV
Oh no. I couldn't believe that man I bumped into at the store was now infront of me. And he was my boss!
"I-It's nice to meet you, s-sir." I stuttered out. He seemed very intimidating and I could not look into his eyes, as much as I wanted to. Or should have.
"Really? You shoud at least look at me if that really was the case." He said in a deep voice. How rude!
"S-sorry."
"I'm kidding. Seems like we've met before, no?" He smirked.
"Uhm, yes. We did, actually."
"Well. It's nice to meet you, Xia Yao. Seems like you will be my assistant from now on." He was smiling. But not in a nice way, but more like a teasing smile.
"I'm happy to be working for you, sir." I said politely.
"Now, Xia Yao. Let me tell you a bit about the tasks you will be doing, working here." I nodded and he continued.
"First off all, mistakes are not allowed here. We only hire the best staff and we can't afford to screw up." He deadpanned.
"You will be accompaning me to meetings, writing e-mails and answering phone calls for me, postponing appointments if necessary." (A/N: ahem, Advance Bravely...)
He continued.
"You will also be doing simple tasks, like getting me coffee." Great, now I even had to get him coffee.
"Since I already got out of the meeting today, your first proper day of work will be tomorrow. Do not be late, Xia Yao." He warned me and I just nodded.
"I don't bite, you know. It's okay, you can talk to me." That bastard! Embarrassing me on purpose!
"I know, sir. I'm sorry." And yet I still tried to be polite when all I really wanted to do was slap him, even though he didn't really do that much to me to piss me off.
"How about you tell me some things about yourself?" He asked curiously.
"Well, my name is Xia Yao. I'm 25 years old and enjoy working out in my free time." I said awkwardly.
"And go shopping, apparently." He laughed.
"Huh?" I asked, confused.
"You really don't have to show up in a suit and tie, just wear clothes you are comfortable with. But not too "swaggy"." And again, he made me feel embarrassed.
"Uhm, it's because I woke up late, or so I thought..." I smiled, he smiled back.
"Do you normally wear glasses?"
"Uhm, no, sir."
"Then take them off." He took them off for me and put them on his desk. That was weird.
"Ah, much better." He smiled at me. Who did he think he was? He did nothing, but embarrass me the whole time!
"Back to work business again. You will be working from mondays to fridays, 8 am to 5 pm with a 1 hour break. Is that okay with you?" That wasn't too bad, actually.
"It is, sir. It's fine."
"If not, we can still change it around." He suggested.
"No, thank you. It really is fine with me, sir."
"Excellent. Is there anything else I need to know about you? I like to have a good relationship with my employees. I am very strict when it comes to work, but I still care about my workers, you know." He said sincerely.
"Uhm, not really, no. I live a pretty boring life!" I laughed. It was true, I did live a boring life.
"That will change soon..." He said quietly.
"Sorry?"
"It's nothing. Do you live alone?"
"No, I still live with my mum." I was kinda ebarrassed to admit that to my boss.
"25 years old and still living with mum... why is that?" Seriously, I might aswell write an autobiography about myself and send it to him.
"My parents got divorced not that long ago and I didn't want to leave my mum all alone on her own, so I decided against moving out." I shrugged.
"That is indeed very nice of you, Xia Yao."
"Could I ask you something, sir?" Now I really was curious.
"Go ahead."
"How old are you? You seem to be very young to be owning a big company..."
"I am 29 years old." Oh wow. 29 years old only!
"Oh wow, that is impressive." I still could not believe it. He was only a few years older than me!
He just laughed and stared at me.
