Chapter 69 (only fuckbuddies?)

Zhen Zhen's POV

I woke up, very unaware of my surroundings, with a pounding headache. I grabbed my phone, that was ringing obnoxiously, only to see that Peng Ze was calling me. I declined the incoming call, not having the nerve to deal with him right now. I looked around, expecting to see another man laying beside me, only to find the other half of the bed empty. I was out clubbing last night, until the early morning hours. I haven't seen Xia Yao in a few days, but he also called me yesterday and told me not to come home and that they had to evacuate for some unknown reason. I didn't think much of it and agreed.

I turned around and saw a note beside me. I grabbed it and read it, rolling my eyes afterwards.

'Good morning, babe ;) I'm at work right now, but I had fun last night. Let's do it again some time. Call me, xxx-xxx-xxx-xx ;)

I cringed at the note and tore it apart, before throwing it on the ground. What a creep. Pff, as if I was going to call him.

I did one night stands. And one night stands only. I slowly got out of bed and got ready. I was pretty hungover and starving right now, so I was glad that Peng Ze had given me his spare key. After I was done, I grabbed my jacket, phone and wallet, before heading out. It was quite cold outside and Christmas was just around the corner. I stopped at the local bakery, to buy Peng Ze and myself some goodies. I was pretty sure that Peng Ze was at work, but I planned on stopping by at the company to meet him for lunch. It was only 10AM, so I still had a few hours left.

It was freezing and I let out a sigh of relief when I finally arrived home, immediately taking in all the heat. I took my coat off and went into the living room, only to be faced with a very furious Peng Ze.

"Where have you been?" He said with no emotion whatsoever.

I just shrugged, not thinking much of it, "I was out."

"Where?" He spit.

"Clubbing. Now excuse me, I need to go and take a bath. I'm stressed and I don't want to deal with grumpy Peng Ze right now." I turned around, ready to walk away.

"You had sex with someone else, didn't you?" He suddenly said and I stiffened.

"What?"

"I know you did."

"What makes you think so?" I asked, turning around and crossing my arms infront of my chest.

"I can see you fucking limping from a mile away. Do you think that I'm stupid?" Seriously, what was up with him? What was his damn deal? I didn't understand why he was so angry at me, I didn't even do anything to him!

"Why do you care? It's my fucking body!"

"At least be honest, Zhen Zhen. You had sex with someone else, didn't you?" He sounded almost... hurt? Or maybe I was just thinking too much into it.

"I did. So what? It's not like it meant something to me." He didn't say anything further. He just stood there, looking at me with a blank expression.

"I can't believe you. We had sex and then you went out, only to get fucked by someone else again? What if you catch any diseases?" He shouted, but I didn't care. It was my body and I could do whatever the hell I wanted with it. He could yell at me all he wanted, it's not like Peng Ze and I were a thing.

"Why do you even care? If I want sex with someone else, then so be it. Stop making a big deal out of it."

"Are you really that desperate?"

"You know, I stopped caring a long time ago. I got screwed over by my ex and now it's my turn to have fun. And I won't let anything or anyone get in the way of it."

"You shouldn't give yourself to men like that. They should fight for you and your body, so don't give it to them so easily, Zhen Zhen."

"Why are you even complaining? You get great sex out of it, too, exactly what you want. We are nothing, but fuckbuddies, Peng Ze."

He lowered his head, avoiding eye contact with me. "Only fuckbuddies?" He asked quietly.

"Yes, that's what we both agreed on since the beginning."

"Just- Just go and take your damn bath." And with that, he was out the door.

I sighed and went to the bathroom, still confused on what just happened. Why did he make a big deal out of nothing? I stayed out of his business, too, so why did he interfere in mine? I finally brushed it out of my mind and went to take a bath. But for some reason, I couldn't stop thinking about it. He sounded very upset and... hurt, dare I say.

Why did these things always happen to me? Ugh.

I think we all know why PZ was acting that way, huh? Love is so confusing, ugh 😩
