Xia Yao's POV

Today was the day. I was finally going to meet Peng Ze's friends. Was I excited? Yes. Was I nervous? Kinda. I wasn't good at sociallizing. Never was and never will be. Only half an hour left, until my shift was over. So I slowly started to pack away all my things and turn off my computer. I was done with all the work anyways.

"C'mon, Xia Yao. Let's go." Peng Ze said, walked in without knocking.

"Not yet. I still have half an hour left of my shift." I told him.

"Nah, it's fine. I asked boss If we could leave a bit early." My eyes widened. There was no way Yuan Zong agreed to that.

"And? He let us?"

"He did. Now come on, they are already waiting." I was shocked to say the least.

"Close your mouth or else you will catch flies." He teased me.

"How funny. Alright, let's just get out of here." We walked out and of course, we passed no one other, than Yuan Zong himself.

"Goodbye, sir. Until monday." Peng Ze said and looked at me expectedly. Probably wanting me to say it back, but I didn't care. I just wanted Yuan Zong to get out of my sight.

"How nice of you, Xia Yao." Yuan Zong said coldly. Of course, he would say something.

"What?" I just said, looking at him with a bored expression.

"Have fun, both of you." He said, looking me deep in the eyes, causing me to blush.

"Oh, we will, boss." Peng Ze told him, winking at me. Ugh, Peng Ze. Bad move.

"Alright. Until monday." He dismissed us, but not before giving me another cold look.

"Geez, why did he look you up and down like that?"

"He hates me." Peng Ze started to laugh.

"What? Are you for real? I can't, that's too funny!" He was laughing so hard, clutching his stomach.

"What's so funny about that? Asshole."

"Xia Yao. You don't know how lucky you are."

"What? Why?"

"You really think he hates you? What are we supposed to say then? He treats you so well! It's a miracle, none of us understand. How can you even complain?" He said, eyes wide.

"Whatever. Let's just go." I rolled my eyes at him. I was so done talking about Yuan Zong.

"Seriously, Xia Yao. Why do you think that our boss hates you? There is no way he does, he-"

"Just stop, will you. Let's just go and meet your friends." I was so annoyed. Stupid Yuan Zong, always ruining my mood.

"Hmm. Okay."

So we drove to one of Peng Ze's favorite bars, where his two friends were already waiting for us. I started to get nervous. What if they didn't like me? I really had to stop thinking like that. After all, I was no people pleaser.
We went in, and I already saw two boys, one boy was waving at us and the other boy just smiled shyly.

"Xuan Da Yu! Wang Zhi Shui! Long time no see!" Peng Ze said, pretty excited about the fact that he was finally meeting his friends again, after a long time.
