I met you in the dark. You lit me up...
Sergio's POV:
I got into my first fight with the band while we were writing songs today. We couldn't agree on lyrics or a beat for anything and I got so frustrated that I just left.
I'm sitting at the bar in a private club owned by a friend, staring down at the contents of my glass blankly.
I hear a few girls laughing over to my left and I look over my shoulder to see four girls dancing around together on the dance floor. There's one girl in particular that catches my eye. She has straight, blonde hair that comes just below her shoulders, and she's wearing a simple t shirt style dress. She's dancing like no one is watching and it's mesmerizing to me. She catches my eye and whispers something to her friends before she starts walking over to me. My eyes widen slightly and I look back down at my drink, swirling my beer around slowly.
The girl sits down on the stool beside me. "Hi." She speaks with a soft, kind voice.
I look over at her and give her a small smile. "Hi." I admire her deep blue eyes for a moment.
"Are you here alone?" She asks, waving the bartender down.
"Oh, uh, yeah I am." I mumble, looking back down at my drink before I finish it off.
"Bad day huh? You seem upset," she observes.
"Is it that obvious? My bandmates and I just couldn't see eye to eye today."
She looks over at me in surprise. "You're in a band? That's so cool."
I look over at her and nod. "Yeah. It can be a lot of fun when we all get along."
"What's your name?" She counters.
"Sergio."
She smiles and I find myself wanting to make her smile more because she's so beautiful. "I'm Grace. Do you maybe want to dance?" She offers.
I straighten up and smile a genuine smile this time. "Yeah. I'd like that."
She leads me to the dance floor and starts dancing, not caring whether she looks crazy or not and I can't help but watch her in awe. She captures my full attention and I start to dance with her, sliding my hands around her hips. She turns and drapes her arms around my neck, pressing her stomach against mine.
We end up dancing all night together and she invites me back to her hotel, but I graciously decline, not wanting to take advantage of her drunken state. I walk her to the door and as I turn to leave, she grips my arm tightly and hunches over slightly.
"I think I'm gonna be sick," she whispers.
My eyes widen and I quickly help her inside to the bathroom in the lobby, pulling her back and out of her face while she throws up. Somehow it doesn't even phase me. I hesitantly rub her back to try and calm her body down and she looks over her shoulder, giving me a weak smile. I stare at her for a moment, bringing her back against my chest, lifting her into my arms. I carry her up to her room and tuck her in gently.
"Please stay."
"I think you need to rest Grace. It was a pleasure to meet you," I respond.
She closes her eyes and runs her hand through her hair. "Put my number in your phone."
I watch her for a minute before pulling out my phone and she rambles off some numbers. I save her name as "Gracie Girl" and slip it back into my pocket. I go to say bye, but she's already asleep. As I watch her sleeping peacefully, I can't help but smile to myself.
