Learn to Love Again (Part 3)

Rae's POV:

Around a month later, Drew and I are sitting in the tour bus, watching TV; Friends to be exact. He wraps his arm around my shoulders and I lean into him. It's safe to say him and I have gotten rather close since we met. I can't help but fall harder for him everyday. I want to tell him how I feel. I'm going to.

After the episode of Friends is over, I mute the TV and turn to see a confused Drew.

"What's wrong?" He asks, giving me a worried look.

"Nothing. I just- can I sing you something?" I reply, looking down at my hands.

"You want to sing to me? Sure." He responds quietly.

I take a deep breath and start singing. "It's been a long time coming since I've seen your face

I've been everywhere and back trying to replace everything that I've had till my feet went numb

Praying like a fool that's been on the run

Heart still beating but it's not working

It's like a million dollar phone that you just can't ring

I reach out trying to love but I feel nothing

I feel again..." Drew listens to me carefully and he opens his mouth to say something, but seems to hesitate.

"What are you saying Rae?" He asks finally.

"I'm saying...if you will still accept, I would be honored to be your girlfriend because after Brady, I shut down, but now hanging out with you made me feel whole and loved again." I say. Drew smiles his perfect smile and slides closer to me, slowly pressing his forehead against mine.

"I want to do this right, so Rae, will you be my girlfriend?" He asks. I smile and nod happily, and Drew closes the gap between us. His kiss sends a shiver down my spine, and I lean in to him, sliding my hands around the back of his neck. He pushes me against the back of the couch gently and kisses me again, more passionately than before.

Brady's P.O.V:

I am about to walk into the sitting area when I heard Rae's familiar voice as she starts to sing. I freeze and hide behind a wall listening. She is singing Feel Again by One Republic. When she finishes, Drew's mouth is hanging open.

"What are you saying Rae?" He asks.

"I'm saying...if you will still accept, I would be honored to be your girlfriend because after Brady, I shut down, but now hanging out with you I feel whole and loved again." She replies. Ouch. That one stung a bit. I shake my head trying to rid myself of the memory but I remember anyways. After what I did to Raelynn, she would never trust me again and what's worse, I made it hard for her to trust anyone else. I watch as Drew moves closer to Rae and rests his forehead against hers.

"I want to do this right, so Rae, will you be my girlfriend?" He asks. Rae smiles and nods, and Drew leans in all the way to kiss her. She leans in closer to him and slides her hands around his neck. He pushes her up against the back of the couch and kisses her again. That's when I realize that I still love Raelynn. I mean throughout the past two years, I couldn't stop thinking about her and I knew that I liked her, but until just now, I hadn't realized that I am IN LOVE with her.

I watch in shock and jealousy as Drew pulls away and takes Rae's hand in his.

"I love you..." He breathes. I suck in a breath. Don't say it back, don't say it back...
