Ryan and Kai went to see their mother for the day. So that left me alone to get my mind correct. Therapy was a god send. It's what I needed this whole time. But I was ashamed of my past. Didn't want gia to see me as weak. I had to be strong for her how could I be weak and strong at the same time. But I should've told gia about my past instead of hiding it. I've done so many messed up shit.
But I can't sit here and constantly blame myself. It's not healthy. Looking at the clock... it's getting late. I started on my way to Gia's house. I like the fact our co-parenting is going great. No problems, no fights. It's been pretty easy with Gia lately. Now with Harlow I need to talk to gia about her coming over here.
Pulling up I honked the horn. Kai came to the window motioning me to come inside. Turning off the car I got out and walked to the front door. Ryan let me in "Hey dad!". Salem turned around and ran to me "daddy!!". I picked her up hugging her "hey princess".
Harlow was on the floor just trying to walk but to no avail. "Hey pretty girl" she smiled. I picked her up and just showered her with kisses. She giggled as my beard tickled her chin. She was definitely cute. Ryan cleated his throat pointing to a man who was talking to gia. I shrugged "who is that?".
"Moms new friend" Kai said. Gia looked over her friends shoulder and saw me there. She smiled and walked to me. "You boys are leaving me already?!".
"Yup, we'll be back though" Kai said. Now usually if you're in a woman's home you don't come Nosey yourself but this man did "hey I'm Levi!". He stuck his hand out. "Delano" I said. But left his hand hanging. "Gia can we speak in private, please?".
Gia nodded and excused herself. We went inside Salem's room. "What's up?".
"Are you serious? I don't care what you do but you have this man around our daughters" I said.
"Delano, I don't have a sitter. And I'm not sure if you're ready for Harlow" she said.
"I'm her father. I'll manage. You act like I didn't raise three kids before her" I said.
"You're right. I'm sorry" she said.
"If you want I'll watch the kids so you two can go out instead of being in the home" I offered.
"You'd do that for me?" She seemed surprised.
"Why wouldn't I do that?" I asked.
"Are you feeling okay, Delano? This doesn't sound like you at all".
"I'm fine... but I'll stay here while you go out. I have Ryan and Kai here to show me around. So go have fun" I said.
"This is too weird! But if you say so" she walked out the room and I followed. Ryan and Kai has smirks on their faces until gia told Levi they would be going out tonight thanks to me. The boys face dropped "dad you can't be serious?!".
"I'm the sitter tonight so your mom can go out with her new friend" I said.
"Daddy and Kai stay? Yay! We watch frozen. Let it go!!" Salem cheered.
"Oh hell no! I can't watch frozen again" Kai whined.
"Come on Levi. Their dad will watch them while we go out" Levi jumped up and smiled "thanks man". I smiled "don't worry about it". They left the house and Ryan was mad. I guess he thought I was going to get upset and cause a scene. Salem came back with her Olaf stuffed animal and her frozen dvd. "Come on lets watch it. You too Harlow!".
Kai ran to the back room "I will not watch frozen, again. Can someone hide this dvd already!".
"Kai come here" Salem went chasing after him. Face palming myself cause I missed this. I wanted this back. Harlow was the only sane one here. She sat in the floor just staring at me. But I wanted to get know her a little. Picking up and sitting her in my lap "hi Harlow. It's daddy!". She smiled "yeah I know it's funny. But once you get to know me you'll always want to be around me. Your sister Salem was once like that". Hearing a high pitcher scream I got up with Harlow in toe. Salem was screaming at Kai. Shaking my head cause if he would just cooperate.
A good hour later Salem was knocked out in the couch as the movie was still going. I was happy no more frozen for me. Harlow was sleeping as well. So I put her to bed first. Then Salem. Closing their door but not all the way. Ryan and Kai were playing a game in their old room. The house was now quiet.
Taking a seat in the couch. I just looked around. Gia was always into hanging up pictures. The front door opened and Gia walked in alone "hey". She smiled "thanks again".
"No problem. Did you have fun?" I asked.
"Yeah it was nice" she said.
"Let me get out of here" I called for Ryan and Kai so we could leave. Looking at gia one last time before I walked through the door.
