Finally making it to California. Felt like that plane ride was never ending. Pulling up to the house Gia and I rented. Opening the door I saw the kids on the couch watching tv.
"Daddy's home!" I yelled.
They glanced at me and shook their heads "what?".
"Sorry dad" Kai said.
"Huh? What happened?" I asked. Gia came from out a room "can we talk for a quick second?". I know she missed me but damn she can't wait. Walking up to her she pushed me into a room closing the door. Taking off my jacket with a smile "missed me?".
"Relax! We are not doing that. But Kai had something very disturbing to tell me" she said.
"About what?" I asked.
"Oh how you left him in the damn car while you go on and dick dip bria!" She said.
"Umm... I apologized to him for doing that. I'm sorry. At the time I wasn't thinking clearly. But I'm here now, right?" She nodded "true but still Delano... leaving Kai in the car and letting him know in a way what you were going to do?! What the hell is wrong with you?".
Pulling her to me "look like I said I wasn't thinking clearly. That's all in the past now. Can we focus on this trip and have fun? We haven't been to California before".
Gia looked away "sure".
"Wait? I know that look! You been here before?!" I asked. We all know gia had a tendency to travel without my knowledge. She titled her head "well..."
Stopping her before she answered "you know what it doesn't even matter. Let's just enjoy this time... together". We both walked out the room with the kids just eyeing us "what now?".
"Just wanted to make sure mom didn't kill you" Ryan said.
"No we talked it out. And now dad is here so what did you guys do already?" I asked.
"We met moms brother and his wife aka boyfriend... I'm not sure what to call him" Ryan said.
"Oh you met Rashad and Tony!" I said.
"We have the day to do whatever you guys want to do" Gia said.
"Ooo can we go to an amusement park?" Salem asked.
"We can do that" I said. Hearing a muffled scream I looked around and noticed Harlow was missing. Raising my brow I went to follow the scream. Pushing open a door I saw Harlow stuck to the floor. And I mean literally stuck to the floor.
"Daddy you made it" she smiled.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Well my feet are stuck to the floor" she said.
"And how did that happen?" I asked.
"You know... I don't know. But go ask Ryan" she tried to lift her feet off the floor to no avail. Gia walked past us but backtracked. "Harlow? Why are you stuck to the floor?".
Harlow said nothing but smiled with her cute chubby cheeks.
Gia knew already "RYAN?!!!". He came running "what's up?".
"Why is your little sister stuck to the floor?" She asked. He turned to look at Harlow "maybe spilled something and stepped on it. I don't know".
Harlow squinted her eyes at him. "What did you do to get feet?".
"Crazy glue" he said.
"Knew it. He's a amateur! Next time use gorilla glue" Harlow said.
"You be quiet and stop giving him ideas" Gia warned.
"Are you two still pranking each other?" I asked.
"What?! These two almost made the plane do an emergency landing on the way here!" Gia said. Both Harlow and Ryan laughed. "It's not funny!" I said.
They quickly straightened their faces. Gia rolled her eyes "Harlow don't move". Harlow threw up her arms "oh I won't be going anywhere!"
Gia returned with nail polish remover and started coating the liquid around her feet. Slowly the glue released the hold. Harlow finally was able to life her feet off the floor. "Ryan is going to get it!".
"No he won't! Just let it go!" Gia warned.
"But mommy..." she whined.
"I'm serious!" Gia said.
Harlow scrunched her face and walked out the room. I was never the one to discipline our children. Something about reprimanding them doesn't feel right. Maybe from how I came up... it doesn't feel right to be mean to them. Gia is doing a good job on her own.
We walked back to where everyone was and this time Harlow was there. Ryan and her Harlow were having a intense stare down. "So amusement park it is. I'll invite Rashad and tony to come along".
I haven't seen Rashad since before moving. We had a brief run in. But that was it. So this should be fun to actually having a conversation with them both. Harlow has gotten up and just eyed Ryan as she walked. Gia cleared her throat "Harlow sit down".
Harlow sucked her teeth but plopped down in the couch. Ryan giggled covering his mouth.
