DELANO POV
"Can we please go to the grocery store? We have nothing in here to eat" Gia said. Thinking I had everything planned out correctly... except filling up the fridge with food. "Yeah, do you want all the kids to go?" I asked.
Ryan came from his room "where are we going?".
"To get some food" I said. He stopped and thought for a quick second. "Oh well I'm staying here. And I think Kai would stay too". Gia squinted her eyes at Ryan. "What?! Oh wow I kill two people and I can't be trusted". He stormed off to his room being a little over dramatic.
"Well then we can just take Salem and Harlow" I said. Salem must've heard her name cause she came ready to go. "Let's go!" She said. Harlow followed her walking out the door. The cold breeze blew by sending a chill down my spine. Gia shivered "oh hell no! It's cold out!".
"Again we aren't in warm Arizona anymore. You have to start wearing a jacket" I said. Packing up both girls in the car strapping them in. Gia ran back inside to grab a sweater. She quickly ran back to the car and got in.
Once we got to the market which was a lot bigger than the one I was used to. "Let me get a cart so we can put these two inside". Walking quickly to get the cart cause this cold front was cold. When we walked inside let's just say the looks we got was a little ridiculous. "Geez, people are acting like we are aliens".
"Mommy! Can we get cookies?!" Salem asked loudly.
"No, we need actual food not snacks" she said. Making our way through the aisles... Gia picked up mostly everything she could get her hands on. She even gave into getting cookies for Salem.
By the time we got home ryan and Kai both came to tackle what was in the bag. "About time!". Later on, I went to put the girls down for a nap. "Dad? Where's mom?" Kai asked.
"She should be somewhere around here" I said.
"I looked but I can't find her" he said. Closing the room door but still leaving a crack in between the wall and the door frame. Walking to the part of the house that Gia likes hang out at. Ryan was walking towards me "Mom is on the phone with Ron".
Here we go...
"Go get her dad" Ryan patted me on the shoulder. He would love to see me get crazy. But I won't. Ron isn't a threat to me. Slowly walking to the room I hear her just giggling away. What the fuck is so funny?. Let me find out Ron is a comedian. Since she was on the landline phone I did what any other loving husband would.
Hearing Gia "hello? Ron?!. What the hell?". Smiling at myself the wire I took out the jack I threw it away from me. Gia came out the room and looked at me "how weird is it you would be by the phone jack when it magically gets disconnected".
"Are you assuming I did something?" I asked.
"Assuming? No! I know you pulled the phone wire out" she said. Feeling a little offended she quickly blamed me. "Who was that anyway?" I asked hoping I could move the conversation away from me.
"That was Ron. He wanted to let me know he made it home safely" she said.
"Oh, I mean Ron is a man right?" I asked.
"What are you getting at?" She asked.
"What man has to call a woman to tell her he made it home safely? Unless he's playing for the other side of the field" I said.
"Really?!... not all men can as macho as you. Maybe if you stayed soft things would work out better" she said.
"Wow! So that's what you want?. I can be soft. Maybe we can get our nails done together too. And maybe we can share makeup too. How would you feel that I dye my ends too? Gia that's not happening. And I wouldn't say I've been soft. I've been more delicate it to our situation. It's the nicer side of who I am. But soft? No! Never" I said.
She stood there with a disbelief look on her face "that means you're soft whether you want to admit it or not. But hey, Salem is dying to do your make up again".
"Point of the matter is... Ron is crossing boundaries. Doesn't he have a girlfriend and a daughter? He should be busy not sitting there calling you every minute of the day. You guys aren't teenagers who are best friends. And how would his girlfriend feel is she knew how close you two are?".
"Delano you are blowing this out of proportion. And who's boundaries? Yours?" She asked.
"I see you didn't set any boundaries with him. That's why he feels like he can say or do what he wants and you won't stop him" I said.
"I'm done arguing over something that's not a big deal. At least you could've thanked him for offering to drive our things cross country" she said.
"He didn't do it for me. He did it for you hoping to score some brownie points. No man will ever do something for a woman without thinking he'll get something in return... unless he's gay" I said. She rolled her eyes and walked away from me.
From ever since Ron gave me a bad vibe. He's doing too much for Gia.
