DELANO POV
continued...
"As you for older and I mean teenage years did your mother start being around more?" He asked.
I laughed "yeah right..."
Memory...
As I got older I was just an asshole. My mom sent me to a prep school. Now her original idea was to make sure it was an all boys prep school but I convinced her to make sure it was co Ed. By the time I hit eleven grade the ladies loved me. I was the type to have plenty of girls. But of course they didn't know anything about one another.
I hated being alone. So it needed some attention the girls were always willing to give it to me. "Delano, my office please!" The principal said. Rolling my eyes cause this was the third time this week. Walking into his office he mean mugged me. "Hey" I smiled.
"Sit down Mr. Reid! I'm tired of seeing you in here! The only reason you are in this school is because of who your father is" he said.
"Funny, at least you know who he is" I joked. He wasn't laughing at all. "Megan and Linda were fighting and guess who was the source of their problem?".
"I don't know, makeup?" I said.
"No! You! Again!" He yelled.
"Whoa there! They'll make up by tonight trust me" I said.
"Delano is I see you in here before the week is out I'll have no other choice but expel you! Do you understand me?!".
I nodded "loud and clear".
Like that was doing to scare me. Of course he called my mom. See I usually did things to get her attention. Now if it was negative or positive I was there to take it. She's going to be upset but whatever.
With women... it was easy for me to engage in sexual activity. That was my only time I wasn't alone. It may be for an hour or so but it's all I needed. In high school my preference was white women. They were the easiest to get in bed.
I never took any women to my home. Usually when I hooked it up it was at parties. Refusing to bring any women home so my mom can start her shit.
End...
"So just to get your mothers attention you rebelled in anyway you could?" He asked.
I nodded "pretty much. But it didn't help as much as I thought it would".
"Now tell me about meeting your wife" he said.
"Gia, she came to my office for a job. When our eyes met I swear my heart skipped a beat. That never happened before. I knew I was attracted to her. Now because of my track record with women I knew getting her wouldn't be hard. But little did I know. She turned me away every chance she had. In a way Gia reminded me of my mother. The way she treated me. Even when I wanted to talk to her she would brush me away. Trying all my tricks and she still didn't want anything to do with me. Then the party happened. Now my intention wasn't to sleep with her. We danced and then we hooked up. When she told me she was a virgin that peaked my interest even more".
"So we can both agree that Gia and your mother had a similar trait. That you were in a way chasing your mother in Gia. But what was the one thing that made you in love with Gia?"...
Memory...
Gia has been working for me a little over a year now. I keep making up some random jobs for her to do. To keep her busy and also to be close to her. My girlfriend and I were going through some things and my moods were all over the place.
As I looked through my paper work I sighed. Gia turned to me "not that I care. But is something wrong?".
"If you didn't care you wouldn't have asked" I said.
"Smart ass" she mumbled.
"Now to answer your question. My girlfriend and I are having some issues. And it's annoying me" I said. Gia nodded "I'm no therapist. So my advice wouldn't be valid".
"But what do you think I should do?" I asked.
She shrugged "try talking it out? I mean I can guarantee whatever you both are fighting about is dumb anyway". I stared at Gia for a small minute... "You're right. It is dumb. Not worth the fight".
"Well there you go. Problem solved. Can I go now?" She asked. I nodded and she raced out of my office. Now if she didn't care about what was bothering me... she wouldn't have asked. The next day same thing... but this time gia brought me a coffee. Which isn't like Gia at all. "Because you was in a sour mood yesterday. My motto... coffee makes everything better".
"I'll remember that for next time and thank you" i smiled.
"Oh and don't tell anyone. It'll make me look soft out here" she smiled. The attention I needed Gia was feeding into it. So after that I kept trying to get it from her.
