GIA POV
"Everyone come out to the living room!" I yelled. Waiting for everyone to slowly come out here and take a seat. Delano came out first "You okay?".
"Yeah I'm fine! Just trying to have a family meeting" I said. His face relaxed a little "and here comes miss Harlow". She smiled and walked to the couch. Then followed Ryan "I didn't do it!". Side eyeing him "who said you're in trouble?". Kai came out running and with Salem close behind him.
"I have a couple of things that we need to address. And right now is the perfect time" I smiled. All the kids looked at one another "dad what is this about?". Delano shrugged "I have no clue".
"So first things first... miss Salem. Can you come here?" I asked. She slowly got up and walked over to me "Yes?".
"As a mom I've noticed from early on you have this closeness to Kai. And it's only gotten worse as time went on. Can you please help me understand what it is about Kai that you are so close to him?" I asked.
"Please help me too!" Kai chimed in.
Salem looked a little hesitant to even speak. But she started opening her mouth "Well Kai is very nice to me. He cares about me. And he looks like daddy!".
"But we all care about you. And we are all nice to you" I said.
Salem eyed Ryan "not everyone".
"Hold up? I'm not nice to you?!. Let's not lie Salem. You're the one who's mean to me for no reason" he said.
"Yeah that's because you're the reason mom and dad fight so much. You were here first and they never stopped fighting. Maybe it Kai or me were born first things would be a lot different" she said.
Ryan put his hand on his chest "I'm offended! She blames me for you guys fighting! New flash Salem it's not because of me! Never was!. It's because dad cheated on mom for a while with Bria. Amongst other things you were too young to understand" he said.
Delano was rubbing the back of his neck. "Daddy is that true?" Harlow asked. He cleared his throat and nodded. Harlow glanced at me and back at him. Salem looked down "oh I thought it was you Ryan. I'm sorry".
"No problem! But don't blame me for his mistake" he said.
"Oh and Kai was there for me when daddy wasn't" she said.
"When wasn't I there for you Salem?" Delano asked.
"That time you and mom had an argument and you left and didn't come back until the next day" she said.
"Wonder where he went?" Ryan mumbled. Delano glanced at me. "I'm sorry Salem! I didn't realize my actions made you feel as if I wasn't there for you". Salem hugged Delano and I heard a grunt. Harlow looked upset. "It's okay daddy".
"It's not okay. I was wrong for doing that when I should've worked it out with your mom" he said.
"Oh thank god maybe she'll stop following me around" Kai said.
Well that's taken care of. Next thing in business. As now you all know dad and I are still fixing our marriage for us and you guys. It's going to be a slow process. But believe me we'll get there" I said.
Harlow was mean mugging Delano. "Harlow is there something you want to say?".
"Eww why bria?" She asked.
"Daddy was dealing with some past demons and she was there enabling it" he said. Harlow got up and disappeared to only come out with a bottle of rubbing alcohol "Daddy clean yourself with this".
Ryan laughed with his face in a pillow. Kai was trying not to laugh."Anyone else has any more questions or concerns?" I asked.
"Mommy why are you sad all the time now?" Salem asked.
"Because mommy's mind isn't normal like yours. It's like having the wrong wires connected to something. If you do that it doesn't work. But mommy is going to get more help to deal with that. Maybe fix it" I said.
"We all are going to try and be more helpful to one another. Especially mom" Delano said.
"Maybe we should go on a vacation. That always makes mommy happy" Kai suggested.
"Yeah I don't know about that one. I'm not pulling you guys out of school" I said.
"It's a thought though. A nice drive to a cabin or something. The kids can go snow tubing or skiing. They never been before" Delano said. The kids cheered when they heard snow. Salem's eyes lit up "maybe I can pretend I'm Elsa". Harlow face palmed herself "here we go".
"I have a question... Harlow How come you don't like Salem?" Ryan asked.
She shrugged "I never said I don't like her. Just sometimes she gets on my nerves. She's too sensitive".
Salem rolled her eyes. "Well I say we somewhat accomplished this family meeting. Does anyone have anything else to talk about?". I looked around the room and no one raised their hand. "Then this meeting is over". Everyone got up and went their separate places.
"You did good" Delano said.
"Thanks" I smiled.
"But that trip I'm going to look into it. Sounds like a good idea" he said.
Why do I have a feeling someone is going to end up face first into the snow? Damn kids!.
