DELANO POV

(continued)...

Hearing a voice that was very familiar I walked into the the dining room to see Gia speaking to someone on the computer screen. "Hello Delano!". The voice boomed out. Taking a peek at the screen I saw it was our old therapist from Arizona

I waved "hey".

"How are you?" She asked.

I shrugged "I'm okay".

"Good to hear. But would you mind taking a seat so we can have a couple session?" She asked. Pulling the chair next to gia I sat down.

"So Delano can you tell me when gia told you about K how did that make you feel?" She asked.

"I was furious" I said.

"How come?" She asked.

"If he wasn't sick I can guarantee Gia and K would've been more" I said.

"So you felt threatened that another man would've came in and taken Gia away from you?" She asked.

I nodded "exactly".

"Would it have been like how your mothers boyfriends took her away from you?" She asked. Not wanting to answer this question. "Delano?".

"Umm yeah I guess" I said.

"You know I always say to people sometimes your problems are easier to deal with when you dig down within yourself" she said.

"Look I know confiding in K and also bonding with him emotionally wasn't right. But at the time I did it, it felt okay" Gia said.

"Gia usually when the relationship isn't going well or if the partner is only giving you eighty percent. K came around and you saw the other twenty percent you wanted. Not caring that the other eighty percent wasn't there. You went for it because you wasn't getting it" she said.

"You should've given me that right to have that emotional tie to you" I said.

Gia didn't respond.

"Delano ask yourself... did you allow Gia to get on that level with you?" She asked.

Glancing at gia.

"I don't know. Maybe I didn't at the time. I mean our whole relationship started backwards" I said.

"And you're right! But at the same time you guys could've gotten to know one another... but instead as you were pulling closer. Gia was pulling away from you" she said.

"His controlling ways made me do that" Gia said.

"I didn't want to lose you. That's why I controlled everything you did" I said.

"Breakthrough!" The therapist smiled. "Delano you just admitted to gia... you didn't want to lose her so instead you tried to hold a grip on her".

"I couldn't keep my mom around. I did everything to get her to even look at me. Nothing worked. Actually when I got money... is when she would bat an eye at me. But Gia... I knew I couldn't lose you like I lost her. So... I turned into this control freak. I learned to control my life instead of someone else doing it for me".

"Why did you think you would lose me?" Gia asked.

"For one... I cheated on you. Right there when you left me the first time... that hurt. That's when I got the full custody court order so you would have no choice but come back. Then you claimed you wanted to keep me away from your postpartum. I respected that choice. Come to find out you were with K at that time. Then Bria happened.... you disappeared. That was one of the scariest times of my life when I had no idea where you or our kids were".

"K needed care. He didn't have family. I offered to help him in which he was helping me get through my depression. Yes, we dated for a short time but realized we were better as friends. He was a good person with a big heart. I won't allow you to sit here and bad mouth someone you didn't know" Gia said.

"Gia? Delano is still processing all of that. He's a man and bad mouthing is something he'll do amongst other things. It's the same as when you found out about him and Bria. I know deep down you haven't forgiven him" she said.

Glancing at Gia she looked down.

"You two have come so far... and I'm happy that your both are making progress" she said.

"How does one not constantly think or fear that their partner will cheat again? After what two times now?" Gia asked.

"Honestly Gia, there's not an answer for that. You'll have to trust Delano on this. Granted he's failed in the past but let's hope he's learned and won't repeat what he did" she said.

"I'm done with the cheating. After seeing what it did to our children. I would never ever do it again" I said.

"That's your answer Gia. But I know you're thinking easier said than done" Gia smirked "you know me too well".

"Did you tell her about the voices?" I asked.

"Voices? What voices?" She asked.

"When I get overwhelmed... I hear these faint voices mocking what my mother would tell me. Just negative things. Then when Delano came in drunk and went off on me. Those same things he told me were circulating in my head as well. It's loud and annoying".

"Auditory hallucination... That's when you hear voices. Now I know your not schizophrenic. But I do believe you had a bit of psychosis. Anything can trigger it. Stress is a key winner for this to happen" she said.

"How can I stop it? I mean it hasn't happened in a while so far" Gia said.

"I would recommend medication but because you are pregnant and high levels of hormones can cause things to happen. If it happens again please let me know. Then we will take the right steps to get you help for it.. without medicine" she said.

Gia smiled "thanks!".

Watching Gia it seemed as if she lost ten pounds of worry off of her. She seemed light. Just smiles.
