Chewing on my nail as I watched Delano cook. Salem wanted to see him so to make her happy I brought her and Harlow over. Delano convinced me to stay for dinner. His pastas are bomb so how could I say no.
"Something wrong?" He asked.
"No not really" I said.
"Are you sure? The way you are eating at your nail says different" he said.
"Just a lot going on" I said. He turned back around to stir the pasta some more "like what?".
"Umm... don't be mad. But I met with your sister" I said. Hoping for worst reaction but that never came. "My sister? For what?" He asked.
"Well she wanted to meet with me to apologize on the way she treated me" I said.
"Really? Interesting..." he went back to draining the pasta.
"Yeah and she says she wants to reconcile with you" I said.
He laughed "she wants to what? Emmalee wants to reconcile with me?".
I nodded "apparently she's a changed woman".
"Right, I'm surprised you went to go meet up with her" he said.
"You know... it was a long debate in my head if I wanted to meet up with her. But I went and to be honest I never had any animosity towards her. I knew your mother was the one making her treat me the way she was. And I won't even go into how she was friendly to Bria when you two..."
Delano rubbed the back of his neck once I mentioned the last sentence.
"But I do believe it'll do you good if you just hear her out... at least" I said. He sighed "ill think about it".
I smiled "that's better than I thought". He poured the sauce from the sauce pan into the pasta mixing it up. Once he was done he put the pasta into a big deep bowl which he placed in the center of the table.
"Ryan! Kai! Salem!...come on dinner is ready!" He yelled. Harlow was already in her high chair just patiently waiting to make mess of her meal. Salem came speeding into the kitchen cutting corners. "Yay! My favorite!" She yelled. Shaking my head as she hopped into her seat holding her fork up.
Ryan and Kai both came strolling into the kitchen with a smile on their faces. "Here again? Mom might as well move in!". Side eyeing Ryan for that comment he smiled. Delano came and sat next to me. "Who's hungry?!". Salem wasted no time waving her hand. So of course we had to serve her first. Harlow was second and the boys were last.
Delano glanced at me with a smile "it's been a long time since all of us were at the same table sharing a meal".
I nodded "True".
Kai sucked his teeth "mom! Salem is stealing food off my plate!". Taking a peak at her bowl it was empty. "Salem you could just ask for more!" I said. But she was having too much fun taking food off of Kai's plate. "Kai just switch seats with Ryan!".
Ryan raised his brow "how about we don't do that". Kai moves his seat in-between Ryan and Delano. Salem pouted "no fair".
"No fair? You were taking his food! That's not fair to Kai" I said. She continued to pout. I think she enjoys bothering Kai. Meanwhile Harlow was covered from head to toe in sauce. I thought Salem was sloppy... Harlow took that torch and ran with it. Our kids are just wild. Delano was in a funny conversation with Ryan and Kai.
"Don't worry I'll clean up Harlow. Just eat" he whispered. Once everyone was finished... Salem was still upset. How she going to be upset?. "Kai doesn't like me!".
"Says who?" I asked. She didn't say anything. "Kai loves you. But at the same time you can't annoy him and when he gets mad you get sad".
"I was hungry!" she said.
"There was a whole bowl on the table!" I said.
She smirked "oh yeah".
"I get you love to bother Kai but sometimes it's good to just take a break" I said. She nodded "okay... I'm going to go say sorry to Kai".
"Good idea" I said. Delano came from the bathroom all covered in bubbles. I held my laughter "she got you".
He nodded "she sure did. Splashed the bubbles all over me and thought it was the most funniest thing in the world".
Letting out a small laugh "poor thing".
"How is Salem? I saw her running down to the boys room" he asked.
"She's Okay now. I had to explain to her that she can't get mad when she bothers Kai and he gets mad" I said.
"They have a strange bond... very strange" he said.
"Well dinner was good as always. But I need to get home I have work tomorrow" I said. He smiled walking closer to me "oh really?".
"Delano do not come any closer to me! You are soaking wet and filled with soap!" I warned. He ran over to me hugging me letting all the wetness and soap get all over me. "No!" I yelled.
He pulled back "looks like we both need a shower".
"You did this on purpose!" I said.
"Pretty much! Now let's go shower to get cleaned up" he picked me up bridal style and carried me to the bathroom "boys watch your sisters!" I yelled.
