GIA POV
December fourteenth...
Present day...
Even Ryan said he didn't want a party. I couldn't help myself and plus it's just us and well Kennedy. Since you know they are a thing now. Actually Kennedy was here helping me decorate. "I thought he didn't want a party".
"Yeah I know Ryan knows better than to tell me that" I smiled.
"It's cool how close you guys are" she said.
I shrugged "Ryan and I mesh better".
Salem came running out with her combs and brushes "Kennedy can I do your hair?". Ever since Salem met Kennedy she's been all over her anytime she was here. It's to the point she doesn't bother Kai.
Not that Kai cares but now it's like she's clinging onto someone else. Harlow came out "mommy can I give the dog cake?".
"No! Are you trying to kill him?" I asked.
She didn't say anything. Glancing at Salem she sucked her teeth and went back to where she was. Taking the cake out and putting it on the table. I was so happy that Ryan was fourteen. I try and make each one of our children feel special on their birthday.
Delano returned from getting me more plates. "I'm not sure Ryan will like all of this".
"That's what I said" Kennedy chimed in.
"Gia doesn't listen" he said.
"Ryan will be fine. As long as he has his family and girlfriend he'll be happy" I said. Kai's whole part in this plan was to distract Ryan enough so we could get this going. Kai took Ryan to the park with him. Knowing they won't be there long we had to rush. Salem took my helper so now it's just me. I couldn't move so fast cause I had two babies holding me down.
About an hour later. The food was ready and so was the house. Hearing Kai talk I knew they were home. "Everyone hide!" I whispered. Salem and Kennedy his behind the table. Harlow was with me behind the door and Delano stood behind the small wall. Even the dog hid.
Kai opened the door. He walked in first and then Ryan. We all jumped out yelling "surprise!". Ryan jumped back holding his chest. I smiled "I'm guessing you were surprised".
He nodded with a smile "didn't I say no party?".
"Look I told her and so did Kennedy. Mom doesn't listen" Delano said. Ryan smiled "it's okay. I like that it's a small party". I turned to Delano "see told you!".
"I can't believe you did all this for me" Ryan said.
"And why wouldn't I? Doesn't matter whose birthday I always go all out. Coming from someone who never celebrated her birthday. I never had parties. So I told myself no matter how old my child was I'll always throw a party big or small". He hugged me "thanks mom!".
"Ryan's mom you never had a birthday party for yourself?" Kennedy asked.
"No! Tough life growing up" I said.
"Oh okay" she said.
Even though Delano wanted to cook for this party I refused cause no one wants pasta. So I made Ryan's favorite. Cornbread, stuffing, roasted chicken and mashed potatoes. He was digging in like he didn't eat all day. Seeing my kids smile was all I ask.
Kennedy was very attentive to Ryan. I sat there watching them mingle. It's crazy I can see them lasting for a long time. Or maybe marriage. She's a nice girl too. Two hours later I put the number candles on the cake and lit it. He sat on the chair in front of it while everyone crowded around him.
"Make a wish" Kai said.
Ryan looked at all us and closed his eyes. Two seconds later he blew the candles out. Delano and I sat next to each other while the kids were eating cake.
"You did good" he said.
"I know I did. Look at how happy Ryan is. I have never seen him smile so much" I said.
Kai came with his phone "mom, dad say cheese!". Delano put his arm around me and pulled me close.
Kai snapped the picture and showed us.[i know, the picture editing isn't the best lol]..
Ryan came to us "thanks for the party. I really enjoyed myself".
"No problem" I smiled.
Salem came running to me crying "What's wrong?" I asked. "I went to get something out my room and the dog is on the floor. He doesn't look good".
I sighed "Harlow!!".
"What?" She asked.
"Did you give the dog cake?! When I told you not to?!" I asked.
She shrugged.
"Harlow?" Delano warned.
She rolled her eyes "that stupid dog ate my shoe. So I have him some cake". The way she said it was so calm. She wasn't worried that the dog may die. "You were always jealous that daddy got me a dog!".
Harlow laughed "me? Jealous? No".
"You are! Everything I have you want it!" She yelled. Delano got up "look come on girls. Relax. The dog is okay. She just gave him too much cake".
"There you go Salem. The dog is okay. Stop being over dramatic!" Harlow said.
"I can't stand you! Don't even know why we are sisters!" She stormed to her room. It was silent. Everyone kept looking around. Delano sighed "let me go talk to her".
Glancing at Harlow she didn't seem bothered. She continued to eat her cake.
