I woke up a lot earlier than everybody else. Didn't want to wake them up. So I got dressed and quietly walked out the room. Gia was snuggled up in the blanket. Before I could even leave I kissed her forehead. Closing the door behind me.
"Hi daddy!" Harlow said. It's six in the morning why is she up?!.

"Hey Harlow! Why are you up so early?" I asked.
She shrugged "I don't know. I can't sleep pass six".
"Oh, I see you got some cereal already" I joked.
She nodded "want some?". Why not?. I nodded "sure". She hopped off the stool and went to get me bowl. "What cereal are you eating?".
"Lucky charms! My favorite" she smiled.
"My favorite too!" I smiled.
"Really?! Wow!" She smiled. Pouring the cereal into the bowl and getting the milk. "Why are you leaving?".
"I have to work. So I have to go back home while you guys stay here" I said. She stopped eating "you're not lying, right?".
"No I'm serious. The travel from here to my job is too much. So I rather just go on home" I said.
"Are you sure? Or are you and mommy splitting up. Again? Even though I wasn't there for that. I mean I was but I was baby" she said.
"Harlow mom and I aren't splitting up" I said.
"The way I saw you that night was weird. I wasn't scared but I didn't know who that was" she said.
"I'm sorry I came out like that. Daddy was upset and hurt. I reacted the wrong way" I said.
"I understand. Salem pisses me off sometimes where I just want to" she held up her hands and made a strangle motion. "Ryan too but only a little".
"Little girl you are crazy. But always love your siblings. You guys will always be there for one another..." I said.
She sucked her teeth "is that a law or something?"
"Harlow..." I warned.
She playfully pushed me "I was joking daddy, geez!".
Side eyeing her "do you do this with mommy?".
She nodded "yup. But we have a full on breakfast. Mommy says cereal is all sugar. Something about rotting teeth".
"Well she isn't lying. But what does she make?" I asked. Gia could throw down in the kitchen. I have no idea who taught her how to cook. "You know eggs bacon grits... I like mine with cheese".
"Me too" I smiled.
"Cool, maybe when we have these breakfast I'll make sure she invites you" she smiled. Harlow wasn't as bad as Ryan claims. She's a sweet girl when she's ready.
When we were done I helped her clean up. She walked me to the door "see you later, daddy".
"Harlow I won't see you until the end of the week when you come back home" I said.
She put her hand to her head "oh yeah. Forgot".
"Tell Ryan, Kai and Salem I love them and I'll see them at the end of the week" she nodded "okay".
"And make sure you tell Salem!" I said. She rolled her eyes "fine!". This little girl is something else.

When I reached home after work. I was tired. Felt like I've been on the road all day long. Pulling up in the driveway of our home. Walking up the steps to the door.

"Delano!!" I heard. Turning around I saw my sister. Her arms were wide open. "Umm How did you find me?".
"No hug?!" She asked.
Mean mugging her "no. Why are you here?".
"Well damn bro! Brad and I wanted to come see you. We haven't seen you in a long ass time" she smiled. Brad waved his arm out the car they came in. Rolling my eyes at him "okay you see me and now you can go back where you both came from".
"That's the way you treat your sis?" She asked.
"Emmalee... look I still haven't forgotten what you did. You mom and paper bag. You three ruined my life. Almost cost me my family at the time. And you want me to be all happy to see you and Brad? Brad? Mister come onto my wife?!. No you guys can get off my property!".
Brad honked the horn "Hey I made my amends with Gia. I apologized" he yelled. Flipping him off but my eyes were on Emmalee. "Look we are here on friendly grounds. No bullshit. I miss my brother!".
"I bet you do! Listen neither of you better come around her after today. Stay away from Gia and our family. I'm giving you the fair warning" I said. Emmalee rolled her eyes "look I'm not here to cause drama and neither is brad. I would like to meet my nieces and nephew and see Gia!".
"Not happening. So you can run along now" fanning her away from me.
"Why are you so bitter?" She asked.
"Because you are still here. And then I don't even know how you both knew where I lived. Sounds like you guys have been stalking me. Plus, you and brad dating is a little weird and out of the ordinary. So excuse me if I'm being a little suspicious of you both".
"Well you can calm down" she said.
"Emmalee please get the fuck off my property before I make you get off. I'm tired and not in the mood for whatever shit you guys came here for. Just go away" I opened the front door slamming it in her face. Putting on the alarm I went to shower. I needed a hot shower after last night.
