After the disastrous event that took place a year ago. Gia moved on with her life. New place, no one knows her or her back story. One thing she's keeping quiet about is her new baby.
Delano is still reaping from what he did to gia. He wants to make...
"Mommy how come Harlow gets to wear a tutu and I don't?" Salem is now wanting to do everything Harlow is doing. "Because it's her birthday not yours".
"But she's my sissy... so if she wears one I wear one" she said.
"Salem what you can do for mommy is go and get dressed" I said.
"Can I wear my tutu too?" She asked. Lord this child.
"Fine Salem! Go wear your tutu" I said. She smiled and ran to her room. Today was Harlow's first birthday and Delano offered to have something at his home for her.
That therapy session I had was very truthful and emotional. When I got home I wrote a five page letter to Bria. I cried the entire time of writing it. I felt like all the things I've never spoken about was on this piece of paper. My body felt free in a way. When I was done I lit it on fire. The pieces of paper rolled up and burned. It's like my pain crumbling and burning up. Bria was dead this was the only way I would be able to get closure that I needed. The next morning when I woke up I felt weightless. Knowing there's many other layers I need to fix but at least this one is gone.
Salem came in her tutu and posed "how do I look?".
"You look very pretty! Now let's get going before your daddy send Ryan over to get us" I said. Salem skipped in front of me as we were walking. "Mommy look at the pretty balloons!". I see Delano went all out for Harlow's birthday. We walked inside and this man has decorated the entire house. "Wow!" I said.
"You like it?" He asked.
"Delano this is a little much... don't you think" I said.
"Nope, not for our daughter! Give me the one year old!" He said. Handing over Harlow who was happy as always. Not a clue what was going on. "She looks pretty. I see mommy dressed you and sissy alike".
"Correction Salem dressed like Harlow. Mommy had nothing to do with that" I said.
"Well doesn't matter... the two princesses are tutu twins today" he said. Delano since he started therapy isn't the same Delano. He much calmer and nicer. Especially when it comes to Salem and Harlow he's so kind and soft. It's like crazy controlling Delano got left in the therapist office. Actually I don't want to jinx it. Let me shut my mouth.
"There's snacks over there if you're hungry" he pointed out. Watching him with Harlow made me feel so guilty for not allowing him to be there for her from day one. "Delano I want to apologize about what I did. It wasn't fair to you that I kept Harlow away from you. You never gave me a reason to do that. I did it for myself thinking if I did that you would know what I felt. The hurt of it all. Thank you for being a great father to our children". He smiled "thank you for that".
As the day went on Salem was teaching Harlow how to dig into her cake. I made sure Salem didn't try and give her a visual. We sang happy birthday to her and let her smash her cake. Why is it babies grow up so fast? I swear I could remember Ryan turning one and he's eleven. Four kids later our baby is one. Before I know it she'll be running around with Salem.
Feeling a tear escape my eye. I wiped it "You okay?".
"Yeah just thinking how quick our children grow up" I said.
"They do. But you ever feel the need to have just one more. We can make that happen. We can play Russian roulette and see what we have next".
"Delano I'm going to punch you in your face if you don't get away from me" I warned.
He put his hands up "I see you need time to think about it". Mean mugging him "I'm not thinking about it. So don't even..."
He laughed "I was joking! You need to lighten up".
"You're not joking. You said the exact same thing before and Salem came right after. Don't play with me. I'm not here for play play" I said.
He walked away smiling. Since it was Harlow's day I let her do whatever she wanted. Salem was right behind her anyway. In a way, I'm happy I had Harlow because it gave Salem a playmate. Instead of her so focused on Kai. If Harlow is around she doesn't really pay him any mind.
Delano got Harlow one of those car trucks where she sits down she can walk in it. And I got her some more toys. Clothes wasn't needed. Oh boy, next is Salem's birthday but I have a good month before I have to decorate a frozen themed birthday party. Can't believe Salem is going to be three. Someone stop my two babies from growing up!.
I helped Delano clean up the house from all the mess Harlow and Salem made. Ryan and Kai were a lot of help but not by much. They want to act a fool and start making mess too. "Well at least today turned out good".
Seeing Harlow enjoying her toy. "Yeah she's happy".
"Gia, if there's one thing we got right is being parents. I must say we did a good job" Delano said.
I smiled "We did".
