RYAN POV
Kai doesn't worry me to much. He keeps his mouth shut when it comes down to what we do. When my mom questioned why our clothes was covered in blood he easily made up a story. Even though my mom didn't believe him. But it got her to stop asking about it.
"So maybe next time we wear something that goes over our clothes. Like when painters paint they wear those white things" Kai suggested.
"Good idea. Then mom will stop asking questions" I said. After we were done with Levi we had to get rid of his useless body. We thought about many different ideas. But one Kai suggested was the best. We went to one of the open construction areas and got four center blocks. Tying up Levi to the center blocks and just throwing him into the water. Watching him sink was the most satisfying feeling.
"Well that's over with" Kai said.
"Yup, hopefully this will be our last" I said.
When we got back home... my dad and mom were dressed to go somewhere. "Don't you two look dashing" I smiled.
"Relax, we are going to meet up with someone" my dad said. Damn!. "So you need to watch Salem and Harlow while we go out" my mom said.
"You man Kai will watch Salem" I corrected.
"Well yeah..." my mom said.
Kai sucked his teeth "it's not even funny". Salem came running out "Kai!". He went to run the other way to get away from her but she kept chasing him.
"Well have fun guys!". My parents left the house.//
DELANO POV
Today was the day I meet my dad. I asked gia to come along. She wasn't too excited to witness the joyous reunion. "You ready?" She asked. I had to admit I was nervous. I haven't seen this man since I was three years old. It's like I was Salem when he left. I couldn't imagine leaving my children at that tender age and never seeing them again.
"I guess so..." we got out of the car and walked into the park where we were suppose to meet up. Gia and I sat at table and just waited. She looked all around to see when my father would arrive. "What if he doesn't show up?". She frowned "it's like the little boy in you is coming out".
Taking in a deep breath "I'm just used to him not being around".
"I think he's coming... holy crap he looks exactly like you. Now I see where Kai gets his looks from!" She said. The man walked up to us and stopped. We stared at each other for a small amount of time "dad?".
He nodded "Delano..."
I stood up and we hugged each other "I'm sorry I wasn't there". Gia smiled at us. She stood up... he turned to me and smiled "and who's this beauty?".
"My wife" I said.
He shook Gia's hand. We all took a seat. I was amazed my dad was sitting right across from me. "So you're his dad?" Gia asked.
"Yes, I'm Delano Sr." He said.
"Oh okay so you were named after your dad. Makes sense" Gia said.
"Yes when his mother was about to have him she didn't have a name. I honestly think she didn't care to have a name. So last minute I just named him after me" he said.
"Why did you leave? I've heard stories from mom but every story has two sides" I said.
"It's no secret your mom was a little nutty. But she crossed the line when she tried to kill me!" He said.
"She tried to kill you?" Gia asked.
He nodded "she was poisoning me for months. I got really sick and was hospitalized. Until they ran test that's when I found out I was being poisoned". Gia shook her head "that woman is more evil than my mother".
"That's why I left. If I didn't she would've killed me. All she cared about was money. She took out over a half million dollars in life insurance policies on me".
"Say what?" Gia asked.
He nodded "one night I packed my stuff up and made a run for it. Trust me, I wanted to take you and your sister with me... but I couldn't. Not knowing where I was going... didn't want you two wandering with me".
"So why did you come back? What made you come and start looking?" I asked.
"I heard your mother passed away. So I figured I was in the clear to look for you and your sister. But your sister she's a little hard to find" he said.
Gia cleared her throat "the witch is dead, hallelujah!".
"It's like I know your my father. Your face looks familiar. But I don't know you. I don't know if that makes sense" I said.
"I understand, but I'm wanting to get to know my son. I missed so many years of your life. And you are married now, too. Any grandchildren?".
"Four grandchildren" Gia said.
"Hopefully five" I joked.
Gia mean mugged me "don't even play".
"You know I used to joke around with your mother when we first got married and after we had you. She would hate when I wanted another one" he said.
"Lord the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree"
Gia said."So where do you live now?" I asked.
"I live in Utah. So I'm not that far from you guys"
He said."How do you like it up there?" Gia asked.
"I mean it's a very mountaineer state" he said.
"Cool" Gia said.
"Well dad, hopefully you can be in our lives now. And eventually be in the lives of your grandchildren" I said.
"I would like that very much" he smiled. We sat there and just talked some more. This was the man I remember when I was three. He was in his seventies now. His hair was full on gray. Wrinkles all throughout his face. He didn't age gracefully.
