DELANO POV
Meeting my dad was something special but at the same time I didn't trust him too well, yet. But I had to put that thought on the back burner. Today is Salem's third birthday. I swore we just celebrated Harlow's birthday. This is what it's like to have two kids a month apart... birthday wise. I was out getting last minute stuff. We were having Salem's birthday in the backyard.
I invited my dad to come by so he could meet the grandchildren he missed out on. So this should be very interesting to say the least. Gia was at the house just getting Salem together. I could imagine that's a job by itself.
Ryan and Kai were helping as well. Especially Kai cause Salem loves him so much. I had a specific job for Kai today. To make Salem happy I would need him to dress up as Olaf. He was against it at first but when twenty five dollars came into the deal he jumped to the chance.
When I got back with more chips and her cake. Salem was running around with Harlow and some kids from her daycare. My home will be filled with kids for another three hours.

GIA POV
"Salem lets go outside! So you can run around out there!" I yelled. Opening the back door all the kids ran didn't through it. Delano walked in with her cake and more snacks. "You're a life saver".
"I try, you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah! It's just so damn hot today. Only in Arizona... it'll be in the nineties in September" I said.
"My dad is on his way" Delano said. Poor thing looked nervous. "Relax, the hard part was over. You met him and spoke. Just let him come and meet his grandchildren and see how he mingles with them".
He nodded "You're right". I smiled and went to put more snacks outside on the table. There are a mixture of kids here. Salem has some friends from day care here. Ryan and Kai have some friends here as well. So it's a pretty good amount of people here.
Fanning myself just moving around. I was starting to think it wasn't as hot as I felt. Because no one was fanning themselves like I was. My hair was up and I had on limited of clothing and I was still hot. "Mom does Kai have to get dressed up now?" Ryan asked.
"Umm yeah... go on!" I said. Salem is going to be so happy when she sees Olaf coming out to her. Lord the things we do to make our child happy. Hearing loud yells and cheers. I watched as Salem was all smiles when Olaf approached her.
Nothing made me happier than to see her smile so big. Kai was a great big brother even though we had to bribe him. All the other little kids were all over Olaf too. The door bell went off. Dropping what I had in my arms at the time. Opening the door there stood Delano's dad. I smiled "welcome to his home"
"Wait? Aren't you two married? Shouldn't this be your home too?" He asked.
"Yes, but we are still married but we are on a break so I live like three houses down from here" I said.
"Oh" he handed me a pan of brownies "I made these for the party". I smiled "oh how nice of you". He walked in and just looked around. Delano's home was a home but he still had some modern nice things. "The party is in the back" I said. He nodded and walked out the back door. I placed the brownies on the counter.
Watching him just sitting there. He wasn't even trying to mingle with Salem or Harlow or the boys. I mean I understand you are a stranger but... you speak about wanting to meet grandchildren and they are in your range of view. But he rather sit and just observe. Strange.
Just continuing the party. Delano brought out her cake as we gathered so she could make a wish and blow out the candles. Again, instead of coming where we all were he just sat there. We handed out cut pieces of cake. I went inside to get some water cause I was hot and thirsty.
At least we get a rest for the next birthday. Ryan's birthday isn't until December. So we get a good two month break from parties. Delano went to speak to his dad since he wasn't talking to anyone. Something about this man was rubbing me wrong. When the party was over we cleaned up the outside and started with the inside. Salem was still going on about her party. As long as she was happy.
"Mom why are there brownies here?" Kai asked.
"Oh dad's dad made them" I said. Kai looked at the brownies and walked away. Which is strange cause Kai loves sweets. Delano came back inside from walking his dad outside. "Well... it wasn't bad".
"Nope. But he is a bit strange" I said.
"Maybe I won't invite him when we have parties. He doesn't seem to do well in a party setting" Delano said. It's sad how he's making excuses for his dad already. Why did I see where this was going?.
"Don't worry about him. Let's just clean up and relax" I said.
He nodded "yeah".
I went to move the brownies and put them in a container. As I took the plastic wrap off I noticed the brownies had nuts in them. Who the hell makes brownies with nuts anymore?. And why would a man make brownies with nuts?. I dropped the pan and went to wash my hands. I didn't need a hospital visit tonight.
Those brownies are going in the trash. The thought of the nuts being there was in my head. Why would you even use nuts not knowing if any of the children have a nut allergy. I'm keeping that man at arms length.
