DELANO POV

I was at home just trying to figure out if it's even worth me getting a new job. Harlow was around but she tends to hang with me or watch her tablet in her room. She wasn't much of a dependent on entertainment.

My phone went off...

"Hello?" I answered.

"Mr. Reid? This is the school calling. Could you meet me after school? I have some things I would like to discuss with you regarding Salem".

"Yes, sure I'll be there" I hope she didn't do anything bad. The rest of the day I was wondering what Salem could've done. But I was about to find out. Once Gia got back I informed her that the school called about Salem's behavior but leaving.

When I got there I saw Salem with her head down. It looks like she was crying. "Hey, You okay?" I asked.

She sniffed "where's mommy?".

"She's home" I said.

She didn't say anything else. The teacher came and smiled "hello I'm Salem's teacher. You can come in the classroom". Glancing at Salem before walking inside.

"Please have a seat" she said.

Taking a seat "What's this about?".

"Salem has been acting out. And when I say acting out she's been having outburst with crying and yelling asking for her mother" she said.

"Salem is acting like that? That little girl out there is doing that?!" I asked.

She nodded "yes, and it's been a constant thing as well. I'm not sure what's going on at home but it's affecting her here".

I was confused.

"Umm... I will speak to her about it. But she'll be fine. It's probably a phase she's going through" I said.

"Maybe but to be sure I would talk to her. Something could be bothering her" she said. Getting up I walked back outside. She looked up at me "Can we go see mommy?!".

"She's home Salem. You'll see her when we get home" I said. She stood up and walked outside that's when she flipped out. "Where's mommy?!" She yelled. I stopped "salem she's home! Let's go". Salem stomped her feet and cried "I want my mommy!".

"Salem? Look at me! Mommy is home" I said. She looked around me "I want my mommy!" She screamed. Looking around I saw some people looking at us. Now if you were looking from the outside it seems like Salem is a spoiled brat acting up. But that wasn't the case. She tried to pull away from me "I want mommy!".

Grabbing her and picking her up I placed her inside the car strapping her in

Grabbing her and picking her up I placed her inside the car strapping her in. She kicked and screamed yelling for Gia. I didn't start the car until she calmed down. Hearing her trying to catch her breath from hyperventilating before. "Are you done?" I asked. She looked away from me and out the window.

"Salem what's going on with you?!" I asked. This wasn't how she normally acted. She didn't answer me. The whole ride back to the house was quiet. When we pulled up to the house and I put the car in park. I went to help her out. She raced inside and instantly hugged Gia. "Hello to you too" Gia joked.

Salem looked up at her "mommy?! I'm happy you are here!".

"Why wouldn't I be here?" Gia asked.

Again she didn't answer the question. Gia seemed as confused as me. Salem took Gia to the couch and they sat together. Before you know it Salem was on Gia's lap cuddled in her chest "mommy I want to stay with you. I don't want to go to school anymore and leave you here alone".

"Salem you have to go to school and learn" Gia said.

She didn't say anything. She just put her head into Gia's chest and closed her eyes. Gia and I were both confused. None of our children acted like how Salem acted. So we didn't know what to do.

Harlow came out the room and saw Salem in Gias lap "Is Salem a baby?".

"Why?" I asked.

"Cause she looks like one in mommy's lap" she laughed.

"Harlow your sister is going through something just let her be" I said.

"Daddy, she's always going through something!" She said

"Harlow..." I warned. She took another look at Salem and shook her head "fine".

An hour later, Salem looked to be a little better. Gia played with her hair for a little bit to calm her down a little more "mommy I like it when you play with my hair".

"I know you do" Gia smiled.

"Mommy you won't ever leave me, right?" She asked. I stood afar from where they were. Just Incase Salem didn't want to talk around me. "No of course not" Gia said.

Salem looked at Gia closely and smiled "okay". Gia looked confused once again. And anytime you asked Salem anything you'll be lucky she answers. You get over one hurdle to just have another one.
