GIA POV

Wiping my tears from crying. Closing the letter I saw another paper telling me to go to the life insurance agency to claim the things and money he left me. Now he already gave me a check. I know there's more. He was that type of person. Always giving.

Getting the papers and my bag. Walking passed Delano and the kids "I'll be back".

"Where are you going?" Delano stood up.

"Out. I'll be back" I smiled. Opening the door I walked out to my car. Secrets are secrets for a reason. Delano wouldn't understand if I told him about K. All he'll hear is I was with someone else. I'm not ready for that fight yet. Making my way down to manhattan to see about his insurance.

K and I helped each other. He was fighting his sickness and I was fighting depression. I remember one time he got so sick and he was on the couch just in pain. I felt so bad for him but I tried to make him as comfortable as I could. Sitting there next to him just telling him stories to distract him from whatever pain he was in. Eventually he got better... he thanked me to the stars and back for being there for him. Vice versa when I was battling my depression. He was there. Encouraging me to beat through it. He helped with both ryan and Kai. It felt like we were a team.

Standing in front of the office I opened the door. The agent must've been expecting me cause he took me into his office. "You must be Gia?".

I nodded "I am".

"Well K as you know passed away. He left you in charge of his insurance. Even though everything goes to you".

"Excuse me? Everything?" I asked.

"Yes, K was well off. And I know he mailed you a check. But the other money will be mailed to you in increments. What I'm saying is you'll be set for life. He's even put a trust in both Ryan and Kai? Did I say that right?".

"I'm in shock. Trying to process all of this" I said.

"You must've been a good person to him" he said.

"I was" I said.

"Oh his penthouse... do you want that too? Or do you want to sell it?" He asked.

"I guess keep it" i said.

"Alrighty! Well sign here and here and you're good to go" he said. Taking the pen and signing my name to the dotted line. I walked out of there in a cloud. When I came to I was sitting in my car just in space.

He would always joke how when we were together that because I was with him I'll be set for life. Now usually I would just laugh cause he was a jokester. But now he meant what he said. When I got back home I was still in shock.

"I fed the girls lunch" Delano said.

"Uh Huh, good" I said.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

I nodded "just a lot of things swirling in my head".

"Like what?" He asked.

"Umm... just stuff. You know babies and the kids" I lied.

"Oh! That's normal" he said.

I want to tell Delano everything but with his temper I'm not sure what to expect. He'll be very upset but I'm not sure where he'll take it. The agent informed me K was cremated and his ashes were scattered in the ocean. He always loved being by the water.

Not noticing tears were falling again. Ryan turned to me "What's wrong?".

"A friend of mine passed away" I said.

"Mom you don't have friends" he joked.

"True, but you met him before when you were little. Doubt you'll remember him" I said.

"Mister penthouse?" He asked.

I laughed "really? That's the name you gave him?".

He nodded "his penthouse was huge".

"Yeah, well he passed away from his illness" I said.

"Oh that sucks! He didn't leave you anything? I'm saying cause you were his only friend" he said.

"Yeah he did. But I'll tell you later about it" I said. Ryan hugged me "he's in a better place".

"I know" I said. When he walked out of my eye sight I just looked down at the papers. Ryan was a little to young to even remember I had relations with K. When I saw how much money he left for trust between Ryan and Kai I nearly fainted. As they turn twenty one a small increment will be released and every five years it'll be like that.

This was a lot to handle in a small amount of time. Never mind these hormones are making it ten times worse.
