RYAN POV

Rewind...

Kai wasn't with me today. Dad took him to a hockey game. So that left me by myself at school. Not that I mind anyway. The day went on pretty fast. Before I knew it the last period bell rang. Making my way to catch the school bus home but I got caught up at my locker. I dragged my feet and started walking home.

Since Kai wasn't here I took the route we would take. Stopping at the local store for something to drink. The owner knows me. Since we are always in here. Grabbing a water and putting the money on the counter. The store door opened catching my attention.

"What a small world! Hey Ryan!" I know these two ain't talking to me. Looking behind me and over the counter "who are you two talking to?".

"Oh Ryan! Stop being silly. Come give grandpa a hug" my moms dad said.

"Umm... how about no!" I said. He raised his brow as if whatever he was trying to do wasn't going to be easy.

"That's how you treat your elders?" My dad's dad asked.

"Excuse me? I don't even know you!" I said. The owner just watched this unfold. "Now Ryan you know me. I was at your sisters birthday party".

"I still don't know you... anyway deadbeats I'll leave you here" trying to walk out but moms dad was a big guy. He blocked the entrance way. "If you could move out of my way" I said.

"We'll give you a ride" my dad's dad said.

"I don't ride with strangers" I said.

"We are not strangers. You know us" he said. Nudging my moms dad "can you explain to him that he's the stranger. I don't know him. Is he slow?".

"Look I'm trying to be nice here. But I see you will be a little more work than I anticipated" my dad's dad said.

"Whatever you guys have planned just let it go. I'm going on home" I said. That's when I felt something sharp nip me in my back "now you'll stop being a smart ass and walk calmly out this store. Then get in the car". I did what was said. They both was trying to open the door but I pressed the lock button on my door. After a couple of minutes my moms dad got in and was about to hit me but my dad's dad stopped him. They stared at each other for a small minute.

"This is dumb" I said.

"Just shut the hell up" my dad's dad said.

"Again? Who are you?" I asked.

"You are just like your mother. That mouth doesn't stop" my moms dad said.

"Well newsflash she is my mother so..." I said. The drive wasn't long. He pulled up to this small house. It was blue with a white door. "Wow who's brilliant idea was this?" I asked.

"Just get out the car!" My dad's dad said. Rolling my eyes I opened the door. Now I know it'll be so easy to run off but they had a car. Can't out run a moving vehicle. Plus, I doubt homeboy (Gia's dad) will catch me. He'll be out of breath within the first three steps. Now dad's dad he looks like he's in shape. Feeling a tug I see he's pulling me to the house.

"There's no need for touch. Don't want your stranger hands on me" I said. He threw me inside the home. "So now what?" I asked. They stood there looking nervous but talking to one another. "Let me guess you both didn't think this all the way through..."

"Look kid shut it" my moms dad said. I shrugged just standing there. "So what did you both accomplish from doing this?".

"Ryan just shut it! Soon enough your parents will be looking for you. We want them to feel like they may never find you" my dad's dad said. I can already see he's not the bright one. "Wow... you?" Pointing to my moms dad "this is payback for her killing Bria! I know she did it". I smiled "trust me my mom didn't kill Bria. She drowned accidentally".

"My daughter would never intentionally kill herself" he said.

"If she can't swim, she'll drown. Hence why she died. Homegirl thought she was Jesus but she couldn't walk on water" I laughed.

"How dare you?!" He yelled.

"No! How dare you? Your daughter was a sick demented individual who loved to see others in pain. She broke up my family! I mean karma came for her. You can't be mad at anyone but her. She painted this picture that she was a nice caring person. But she wasn't and you knew that. Actually blame yourself" I said. He looked pissed that I wasn't agreeing with him. Bria was an evil soul that had to die. Well she never fully gave me that opportunity.

"Maybe we took the wrong child" my dad's dad said.

"Ding, Ding... see the stranger gets it" I said.

They seem as if they had no idea what to do with me. Shaking my head I stood there watching these fools try and come up with a plan. I promised Kai we wouldn't kill anymore. So I'll just wait this out. The way these idiots work I'll be home by Wednesday.
