GIA POV
With all that's going on I feel like we all need to get out and have a family day. Plus, Delano hasn't been himself either since his dad told him about his sister. So the whole feeling in his home is all off.
But trying to get the kids together was another thing. Also trying to do a load of laundry as well. Just trying to make Delano feel a little better. Salem was not helping what so ever. I had her take Harlow and go play while I try and straighten up. Big mistake.
"Delano? Have you seen Salem or Harlow?" I asked. He shook his head "check their room".
"I did already they weren't there" I said. Delano wasn't much help. The clothes had to be done washing by now. When I opened the door the floor was filled with soap. That's when I saw two heads pop up laughing. Lord help me!
"Why are you both in here?!" I asked.
"Mommy it's like a big bubble bath!" Salem said. Harlow was laughing hysterically as she threw bubbles at Salem. I took in a couple of deep breaths. Delano came behind me "shit".
"Daddy look!" Salem yelled.
Facepalming myself quickly. "Salem and Harlow remove yourself out of this mess, now!. Go to the bathroom and wait for me there". With a specialized tone of voice they stopped and ran off. Delano sighed "look I'll go wash them up while this mess gets cleaned up".
Standing there I just watched the mess. Not sure how to clean it up. Jesus take the damn wheel!. And of course Delano would take the easy job. It took me forty five minutes to clean up all the bubbles. I even had to clean out the washer as well. Not knowing how all of these bubbles happened.
After I was done cleaning... both girls ran past me clean. I was tired. Ryan and Kai came out from their room "are we going anywhere today?".
I nodded "yes, but I had to clean up Salem's mess".
"Where are we going?" Kai asked
"Well since we can't leave you kiddies with anyone we'll have to go somewhere kid friendly" I said.
"Okay?... which would be?" Ryan asked.
"You'll see once I can actually get out of this house in one piece" I said. Salem heard what I said and smiled. And she knows she's teaching Harlow all of her bad tricks. Delano came out drying his hands "so is everyone ready to go?".
Looking around making sure everyone was ready. Sighing I nodded "let go before someone gets messy". Strapping Salem and Harlow to their car seats. Allowing Ryan and Kai to go in the back and sit down.
"So where are we going?" Delano asked me.
"Somewhere we can relax and talk. While the kids can do their own thing" I said.
He put the car in drive and we were on the way. The car could never be silent. Not with Salem chatting away. When we pulled up to the trampoline/ arcade all I heard were cheers. Ryan and Kai couldn't wait to get out of the car. Salem was bouncing in her seat waiting to get out.
This place wasn't that big. It was one big floor so the kids can wander without me being concerned. Ryan and Kai both disappeared within the games area. Meanwhile Salem and Harlow were on the toddler trampoline which Delano and I sat on while they jumped away.
"Good choice" he smiled.
"Yeah figures this would be good for them and us. You've been so down lately" I said.
"Just with everything going on. It's making me question my childhood" he said. I turned to see Salem doing a damn flip "little girl... try to not hurt yourself!".
"She's brave! Nothing scares Salem" he said.
"Before Salem makes my heart palpitate.... what are you feeling?" I asked.
"Betrayed to say the least. I can imagine what other secrets my mom held from me" he said.
"You remember when my mom told me about my dad. And I came to you crying hysterically... and you told me that I didn't need any of them. But I had you and Ryan that's all the family I needed. Well I can imagine what secrets my mom took with her to the grave. But it's called secrets for a reason. Now with your father telling you that secret was it done out of genuine or malicious intent?. He could of told Emmalee this himself but he didn't. You have to wonder why. It's like he's trying to slowly break you down. Betrayal is one painful emotion. But you have me and our children behind you. Delano you are a very strong person. I've seen you take on some situations just to protect me. Your father I don't trust nor like him. He's up to something. And I'll be damned if he thinks he'll come here and destroy what he worked hard to rebuild".
I've never seen Delano get emotional. It was a side he rarely showed to me. But he was sitting here wiping tears from my speech "after all I've done I don't deserve someone like you".
"Granted I despised you after I left you. I wanted only bad things to happen to you. But with you being a wonderful father to our kids. Then going to therapy to work on yourself... it made the hate turn into liking. You may drive me crazy but it's what I'm used to. We have to stick together in order to defeat any negativity coming our way". He grabbed my hand and kissed it "thank you I needed to hear that".
"Anytime. Let's go jump with our kids" he helped me up and we just had a family day. It what Delano needed. Seeing him smile made me happy.
