DELANO POV
Gia is the best wife ever. Knowing I was down and she planned a family outing. Couldn't thank her enough for what she said. One thing though something is up with my dad. He lived in Arizona for some time and never came to look for me. I can almost guarantee my mom knew he was here. His presence threw me off. I had to come to my senses. What type of father would live in the same city as their child and never see them?. Knowing I could never do that. For god sakes I moved in the same neighborhood as Gia for my girls sake.
"Are you okay?" Gia asked. She was about to leave.
"Yeah I'm fine. Thank you again for what you did" I smiled.
She fanned me "don't even worry about it. You've done more for me so I have to make it up to you somehow".
"How about you move in?" I asked hoping she doesn't question or even try to logically think about it.
"Umm... I don't think we are there just yet. We still need to work on ourselves before I make that jump" she said. Not going to lie I was a little disappointed but I respected her decision. "You're right" I said. She looked surprised that I agreed.
Salem came from her room with her things followed by Harlow. "Come on girls! Let's go". Hugging both girls "ill see you both tomorrow". Salem nodded and ran to catch up with Gia. Closing the door I stood there just watching them walk home. It's something I always did to make sure they made it home safely.
Once I saw Gia open her door and close it. I went back inside. You can say I've always been very protective of Gia. Someone has to. She's been lacking that type of looking out from ever since.
Memory...
"Why do you constantly ask me to receive products when you can get anyone else to do it?" Gia whined. Looking up from my desk I just smiled to myself. She doesn't even realize I keep doing this so I can spend some one on one with her.
"How's your coffee?" I asked.
"Just ignore my question... but it's good. Thanks" she said. Watching her play with her phone even though I told her not to. Walking up to her I extended my hand out "since you don't listen. Hand it over".
"Yeah okay... no" she said. Thinking quickly I snatched the phone out of her hand and held it high. Gia being only five foot two it was easy to keep it out of her reach. "Look you don't pay my bills so give me my phone back!" She yelled.
"Technically I pay you to work. Which means I do pay your bills" I smirked.
"Smart ass" she mumbled.
"Now go outside and see if the truck pulled up yet" I instructed. She sucked her teeth... and walked outside leaving the door open. Hearing the commotion of her and the delivery driver. It was a innocent conversation until I heard the sexual comment. I got up and walked outside to see Gia looking uncomfortable. "What's going on here?" I asked. My eyes were on Gia. "This idiot is disgusting. He just asked me what that mouth do".
Looking at the guy who was still eyeing Gia. "Get the hell out of here and do not come back. If the company sends you again I'll make sure to stop business with them. Actually I'll call them and make a complaint. You'll be lucky by the end of the day if you still have a damn job".
Gia gasped and put her hand on her chest pretending to be shocked. The guy apologized and ran back to his truck. "Let me find out mister boss man has a temper".
Not saying a word I went back in my office. I don't mind showing my anger outside of work but I don't normally show it here. It's unprofessional. "You didn't have to stick up for me". Looking up at Gia "I don't stand for disrespect. And what he did was very unprofessional and highly disrespectful. There's consequences for that behavior".
"Well if I wasn't here it wouldn't have happened" she said.
"I don't get why you're so bothered to be here. You are getting paid. And you get to be with me. So feel special" I smiled.
"Big deal!" She said.
"I'm a big deal, Gia. In due time you'll see" I said. She rolled her eyes "don't you have a girlfriend?! So why you constantly flirt with me!. I mean since you want to talk about being disrespectful... it's the same thing".
"Who says I'm flirting? I'm just being the person I am. Now if you're taking my kindness and playful nature as flirting then that's on you" I said.
"You ain't slick" she said.
"Gia please use proper English. You're too pretty to speak that slang" I smiled.
"See?! You're doing it again" she pointed out.
"Doing what giving you a compliment?" I asked.
She shook her head "please don't ask me to do this again. Ask Bria or someone else. Who you can't flirt with". She grabbed her bag and coffee about to walk out my office door. "Gia I'll see you the same time next week. Be here".
Nothing else was said. She walked out my office closing the door.
Present time...
Gia and I were meant to be together. Whether I have a girlfriend or not. That's the real reason I with my girlfriend so she could distract me from Gia. But as you can see it didn't work. Even though Gia gave me lip majority of the time but it just brought me that much closer to her.
