Chapter 16.7

Don't get it twisted

The sound of the gunshots fill the entire main wing of the school, after which a deafening silence falls on to it. The smoke rises from the two fired weapons’ barrels, along with it the smell of burnt flesh and blood from the two who had been shot dead center in the forehead by the bullets.

The members of The Order watched in mute horror as two of their men fell forward dead, not a word or grunt coming out of the frozen mouths of the dead which were in shock like the rest of their comrades’ faces.

As the initial shock faded, not only from those of The Order but the rest assembled there as well, all eyes turned back to the two youngster. Both had satisfied smiles on their face as they remained in their positions, their guns still aimed at the spot where the two corpses were standing just minutes ago. Rick was the first to move out of the two, letting out a slight cackle as he punched Crown lightly in the arm.

‘Now that’s what I call shooting! Way to go A.D!’, Rick says happily as he put Crown in a headlock and ruffled his hair lightly, leaving everyone watching them in shock and confusion.

‘Hell yeah man. Although I would have preferred not to have killed them…Also is your aim off, cause I could have sworn you were aiming for Hong’, Crown replies as he gets out of the head lock and glances up at Jun Hong who now had a look of worry on his face as he glanced to the spot next to him where his dead comrade lay.

‘Well that was the idea, but the pills you got me on are making my reflexes a bit slow so I pulled the trigger a bit too early’, Rick answers him as he checked his pistol, sighing softly as he thought about his missed opportunity.

As the two boys continued to talk, Sevan was busy trying to process what had happened right in front of him. He was unable to accept that one of his men would have turned on him, he was damned sure that he had an iron grip made of fear around all his followers. So how did this one young brat fool him?

‘Why Takeshi?’, Sevan mumbled slightly, catching the attention of the two.

‘Why?...Cause I was never one of yours to begin with Old Man’, Rick replied cockily, a slight smirk forming on his face.

‘What do you mean by that?’, Jun Hong asked as he intruded into the conversation, clearly angered by the betrayal of the man before him.

Rick stares at Jun Hong for a second, before breaking out into laughter.

‘My god! You telling me you really haven’t figured it out?’, Rick asks as he finally stops laughing, snickering slightly when he sees the looks of confusion on the faces of his former team mates.

‘It’s very simple actually. He was never one of yours, he’s one of my guys’, Crown answered for Rick, patting his friend on the back to emphasize his point.

‘Didn’t I say I was with the winning side?’, Rick asked in a slightly mocking tone, enjoying the looks of confusion and self-hate on the face of his enemies.

‘So…you where one of us?’, Arthur suddenly cuts in, a slight smile on his face as he looks at the youngsters.

‘Hell no! No way in hell am I working for your political asses. Too much pressure’, Rick replies with an answer which stunned all the Legion members as well as the student body.

‘I’ll make it clear…to all of you now’, Rick said as he points at the Order, Legion and students, before looking back at the people at the top of the stairs.

‘I work for 6 and 6 only. My orders come from the General or him’, he states, patting Crown’s shoulder when he says the ‘him’ part.

‘Got it punks’
