Chapter 18.5

Standoff

'And how do you suggest I do that Damien?! We’re in a very critical situation!’, Sevan hissed back to the comment from his old friend.

But Fujimori didn’t back down, he’d seen these outbursts from Sevan a thousand times over by then to be little more than shaken by them.

‘Martin you need to calm down and think. We’re in a tight fix now. We’re low on a lot of our major supplies and ammunition plus our troops morals are rock bottom at the moment. This could be a very good opportunity to….’, Fujimori was whispering to Sevan when he got cut off by him

‘To what?! Surrender?’, Sevan growled, clearly dissatisfied by the way the conversation was going.

‘No Sevan…To buy us some time to regroup. 6 months is a lot of time to rebuild. Plus I have an idea on how to shift the tides in our favor’, Fujimori finished, getting a curious look from his old friend.

‘And what would that be Damien?’, Sevan asked Fujimori, his temper finally starting to cool down.

‘If you trust me my friend, you will be rewarded with victory’, Damien answered him, smiling wickedly and knowingly.

‘Well old man? What’s your answer?’, Rick probed, getting impatient with the situation and the looks from everyone else there.

‘…Give us more time. We’ll answer on a later day’, Sevan replied, the young red head rolling his eyes in frustration.

‘Great…This is a bloody waste of time!’, Rick yelled before turning sideways and pointing his gun at Sevan’s head, ‘I think I’m gonna just kill the old fool!’

The reaction following this sudden action from Rick was mixed and clashing. The members of The Order were of course trying to counter this, but when one of the elite fighters of the worlds is the target, it took them longer to react due to the fear. And the members of The Legion were having mixed reactions to this unexpected situation.

‘Rick-Kun! Don’t do it dear! It’s not worth it!’, Rick’s mother, Kinuyo, pleaded, her eyes darting between her son and the man she hated to the core.

‘Do it King! It’ll save us a lot of trouble’, Lord Hector Elric, a middle aged man with snow white hair, yelled out to Rick, his wife Lady Grace Elric nodding in agreement to her husband.

‘No Rick! We need him alive! His death will cause more problems than we have already!’, Arthur retorted to Hector’s words, trying to sway the boy from making the wrong decision.

Rick’s eyes were glued on two things, Sevan and the crosshairs on his pistol that were now aligned and aiming at Sevan’s head. The screams and pleas coming from all around him, whether were they to ask him so spare Sevan or to pull the trigger, were all cut off as he focused only on his target. Rick smiled viciously as his finger began to put more pressure on the trigger, a soft click sound being heard as he turns the gun to fully automatic. Just as he was about to pull the trigger and send a wave of bullets at Sevan, the young red head suddenly felt a strong aura radiate from just beside him, making him take his finger off the trigger.

The aura was strong and pure, but yet could only be felt by the red head, who sighed softly as he turned his head to face his partner.
