We all gathered around the door, Fairfin hiding in my hair once more as I stood to the back of the pack of dwarves, leaning against a curved hallway support pillar with my arms crossed, watching the door. I didn't understand why it felt suddenly warmer in here, it isn't like Bilbo added more wood to the fire...

Gandalf opened the door and my eyes widened a little at the very different dwarf on Bilbo's doorstep. He is not the type of dwarf I expected to see. He is nothing like his company, dressed in finer clothing that could still take some hits from weather but made him look regal. He was taller than most dwarves here, making him taller than me, but that wasn't much of an accomplishment since Bilbo was only a hair shorter than me. His coal black hair is long and had parts done up in braids, a normal Dwarf look but more cleaned up than the other dwarves present. His eyes however, really stood out to me. Cold and stern deep blue eyes, like icy waters or the gems dwarves loved to craft into things.

Fitting really, for a dwarf at least.

"Gandalf." He said in a smooth deep voice. I controlled myself so I did not have any outward reaction but by the Valar I was not expecting his voice to sound like that. His deep smooth voice and faint accenting of it was way too attractive, I'm sure females fawn over his voice alone. Not this female though, I will not deny his voice is really attractive though... I forced those thoughts away in frustration with myself. "I thought you said this place would be easy to find. I lost my way, twice. I wouldn't have found it at all had it not been for that mark on the door." He said as he took off his cloak. He is wearing an interesting set of light armor mixed with clothing, his belt had an odd symbol, telling me that he might be royalty...

"Mark? There's no mark on that door. It was painted a week ago." Bilbo said, trying to check the door as Thorin's eyes scanned all the dwarves present, not seeming to spot me from where I stood subtly watching the rather different dwarf. I am not listening to his really nice voice... and he's not bad looking either... I forcefully pushed those thoughts away in anger.

"There is a mark. I put it there myself." Gandalf said quickly before taking a breath. Seems like Gandalf wants introductions to go off without a hitch, "Bilbo Baggins, allow me to introduce the leader of our company: Thorin Oakenshield." Gandalf said, gesturing to Thorin.

Thorin crossed his arms and stared down at Bilbo intimidatingly, instantly crushing any amount of attractiveness I found in him with his cold and unpleasant demeanor to the Hobbit. "So... this is the Hobbit. Tell me, Mr. Baggins, have you done much fighting?" He asked, more like subtly threatened. I glared at the back of the dwarf's head, seriously? Intimidating a Hobbit? I have a feeling Thorin and I are not going to like each others ways of looking at things, even though his voice is way too attractive... as well as him. I pushed away those thoughts again and kept my mouth shut and temper under control. He may be attractive but I now have no interest in even saying one word to the cruel dwarf. I was known in pubs for my temper, so this was new for me in trying to control my temper.

But, if this 'Thorin Oakenshield' continues to annoy me then I will give him a piece of my mind, and unlike the poor Hobbit I am not afraid at all to put the dwarf in his place for his cruel intimidation tactic.

"Pardon me?" Bilbo asked, seeming nervous and confused as I glared a hole in the back of the dwarf's head.

"Axe or sword? What's your weapon of choice?" Thorin said, sizing him up as he walked around the nervous hobbit. The more I see the dwarf talk and act, the more his attractive looks sour to me, disgusting.

"Well, I do have some skill at conkers, if you must know... but I fail to see why that's relevant." Bilbo said, nearly making me laugh quietly as I nodded to the hobbit. The hobbit is made of stronger stuff than I thought him to be, I think Bilbo and I are going to get along great. Unlike me and Thorin. It will be pure luck if I don't feel the urge, at least once in this adventure, to punch Thorin Oakenshield in the face. Like right now.
