Amity's POV;

I sat there staring down at my breakfast.

What now..?

How can I... Dig through her past?

Her past that she didn't want me seeing at all cost.

I sighed.

There's no way it'll be that easy to find out.

"Your high Empress, are you alright?"

I perked up.

It was Kikimora who happened to just be passing by the dining room.

"I'm fine, Kikimora, I'm just in deep thought over something." I said.

"Well, if I may be of any help I will gladly do so."

I chuckled.

Even though she's very old, she still has the spark of being loyal and useful.

"I want you to get me every information about someone specific."

I played along to only fall into a fit of soft laughter.

"As if that'll be easy to do." I sighed.

"Of course it'd be easy, your high Empress."

I raised a brow and yanked my gaze over to her.

"What..?" I asked.

She lowered her head down and said, "your high Empress, the shadows of the former Emperor works under you now. They'll do anything under your service."

I laid back on my seat with crossed arms.

I didn't know shadows worked directly to Belos, I knew they existed to serve the castle but I never thought it was directed towards him instead.

"I've never heard of such a thing, is there a chance I can meet them?" I pondered.

She nodded.

"They should be free right now, you haven't given them a single order since the former Emperor left, your high Empress."

I huffed.

So, they're somewhere in the castle at moment then.

"Arrange me a meeting with the shadows tomorrow." I commanded.

She nodded one last time before rushing off to do the bidding.

"Amity?"

I perked up right before I could take a bite of my breakfast.

"Amity, are you in here?"

It was Emira.

"What is it, Em?" I replied before digging in.

She smiled and walked over to an empty chair.

"Can I take a seat?" She asked.

I smiled, brushing her off.

"As if I'd stop you." I said.

She chuckled and sat down.

"Amity, last night did you by any chance get up?"

I flinched, almost choking on my food even.

"W... What do you mean?" I asked trying to clear my throat.

She laid back on the chair and shrugged.

"I dunno, I came to check up on you one night and you weren't in your bed, the balcony was closed and you for sure aren't the type to just walk outside in the middle of the night." She said.

Calm down, Amity.

What she won't know won't hurt her.

"My throat felt dry." I lied.

She smiled.

"Ohh... But... I didn't see you in the kitchen too." She said.

Seriously!?? Does she wake up late at night to walk around the castle???

"I guess you just didn't see me,"

Play it cool, Amity.

She chuckled and said, "true, that might be it. I was a little groggy grabbing myself water before checking in on you after you well... Cried."
