His Super Soldier // Bucky Barnes

Chapter 163

Maddy, Steve, Bucky, Sam and Hulk stood around a large platform... getting ready to send the stones back.

"Now, Remember you have to return the stones to the exact moment you got them. Or you're gonna open up a bunch of nasty alternative realities," Hulk said, looking over at Steve.

"Don't worry, Bruce! Clip all the branches," Steve smiled.

"You know, I really tried to being her back... with the gauntlet and the stones. I really miss her," Hulk sighed.

Maddy walked up to Hulk and placed her hand on his....

"We all miss her," Maddy replied.

"You know, if you want... I can come with you!" Sam smiled, looking over at Steve.

"You're a good man, Sam! This one's on me though.... I need to do this," Steve said.

Steve turned to look at Bucky.

"Don't do anything stupid till I get back," Steve smirked.

"How can I? You're taking all of the stupid with you," Bucky laughed.

Steve pulled Bucky into a hug....

Maddy stood a few feet away from them, watching them.

"Steve, please let me come!" Maddy begged.

Steve pulled away and looked over at Maddy, seeing how broken she looked.... sadness filled him.

"Maddy.... I need to do this," Steve sighed.

"W-What if you don't come back?" Maddy said her voice cracking.

Steve watched as his sister began to fall apart.

"I don't know what I'd do without my big brother," Maddy cried.

Steve rushed towards Maddy and pulled her into a tight hug.... it took everything inside him not to break down and cry with her.... but he didn't, he remained calm.

They pulled away.... Steve looked down at Maddy and wiped away her tears, he turned and looked at Bucky.... giving him a look.

Bucky walked over and pulled Maddy away.....

Maddy threw her arms around Bucky and cried in the crook of his neck.

Steve walked onto the platform....lifting up Mjolnir and looking back at everyone.

"How long is this gonna take?" Sam asked.

"For him? As long as he needs. For us? 5 seconds maybe," Hulk paused.

"Ready, Steve? Alright, we'll meet you back here, okay?" Hulk continued.

"You bet!" Steve smiled.

And with that Steve was gone....

Maddy pulled away from Bucky... seeing that Steve was no longer there, a sudden weight filled up in her chest.... and she realized he most likely wasn't coming back.

"And returning in 3......2.....1," Hulk smiled.

Suddenly Steve doesn't return.... Hulk quickly starts to panic.

"Where the hell is he?" Sam snapped.

"I don't know! He blew right past his time stamp. He should be here," Hulk sighed.

"GET HIM BACK NOW!" Sam yelled.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK I'M DOING?!" Hulk growled.

"I- I can't be here," Maddy mumbled, turning to walk away.

All of a sudden a portal opened in front of Maddy.....

"MADDY!" Bucky yelled.

Maddy looked up and in a split second the portal was gone.... and in front of her stood Steve, with a huge grin plastered on his face.

"You didn't think I would actually leave you? Right?" Steve asked.

"You are a complete ass! You know that!!" Maddy frowned.

Steve laughed.

"Sorry I'm late! I went back and grabbed a few things," Steve said.

Steve reached into his pocket and pulled out a familiar ring.

"Is that?" Maddy asked but was cut off.

"Yes... it's mother's ring! It only seemed fair if you wore it," Steve smiled.

"I thought I'd never see it again," Maddy sighed.

"It was Bucky's idea," Steve said.

"Thank you, Steve!" Maddy smiled.

Maddy placed the ring on her ring finger.... completely mesmerized by the small ring.

"I-I also got you something else...." Steve smiled.

"What else?" Maddy asked.

"Walk with me," Steve said.

Maddy looked over her shoulder and looked at Bucky and Sam.... they both gave an encouraging thumbs up. Both knowing what was in stores for her.
