Chapter 170

Maddy leaned up against a wooden pole, holding her nose..... she watched as James played with two kids, who were much older then him. Sam walked up to Maddy and handed her some medicine and water.

"Hey Sam! Who are those kids, playing with James?" Maddy asked.

"Oh those are my nephews!" Sam smiled.

"Nephews?! You never told me you had any siblings," Maddy said.

"I've just been busy.... and I wanted to protect them," Sam sighed.

"That's understandable!" Maddy smiled.

"I'm glad you understand," Sam replied.

"So where is this other Wilson?!" Maddy asked.

"She's over there!" Sam smiled, pointing to a woman standing behind a table.

"What's her name?" Maddy asked.

"Sarah," Sam replied.

"And what are your nephew's names?" Maddy asked.

"Jim and Jody," Sam said.

Maddy threw her head back and quickly took the medicine.... and washed it down with water.

"Thank you, Sam," Maddy smiled.

"Anything for my new best friend," Sam laughed.

"Oh I'm your best friend now?!" Maddy asked, lifting an eyebrow.

"Of course! Otherwise I wouldn't let you call me Pigeon man," Sam smiled.

"That is true," Maddy laughed.

Suddenly Sam's sister walked over towards them..... Maddy quickly hid her smile, ready to meet the other Wilson.

"You must be Maddy Rogers! Sam has told me so much about you," Sarah smiled, extending her hand.

"Actually it's Maddy Barnes.... but you can call me Maddy," Maddy said.

Sarah looked down at Maddy's belly.

"SAM! You didn't tell me she was pregnant! No wonder she looks like death.... the fish smell is making her sick," Sarah frowned.

"How do you know I'm pregnant?" Maddy asked.

"Oh honey.... don't you see, you're practically glowing," Sarah smiled.

"Oh," Maddy laughed.

"Come on! Let's head home," Sam said.

"Sam.... can you drop me and James off at the nearest Hotel?" Maddy asked.

"Nonsense! You'll be staying with us," Sarah smiled.

"Are you sure? I don't wanna intrude," Maddy said.

"I'm positive!" Sarah replied.

A few days had past.... Maddy and Sarah became really close, they were practically best friends. Sarah and Sam were sitting on the couch watching the news, while Maddy was in the next room.... cleaning James face.

"MADDY! You might wanna come in here and look at this," Sam called out.

Maddy jumped to her feet and rushed into the living room.....

She stopped dead in her tracks.... when she saw that the government had replaced her.... with a new Captain America.

"I knew it," Maddy whispered, turning to look at Sam and Sarah.

"I can't believe they did that!" Sam frowned.

"What do you expect? They will never allow a woman to become Captain America," Maddy sighed.

"We're gonna get that shield back," Sam said.

"I hope so," Maddy sighed.

Maddy turned around and glared at the tv... disgusted by the new Captain America but also heart broken... because Steve trusted her with that shield and now it's in someone else's hands.

Sam gently placed a hand on Maddy's shoulder.... drawing her out of her thoughts.

"I know this probably isn't the time but.... I have a mission and was wondering if you wanted to tag along," Sam said.

"Really?" Maddy asked.

"Of course! It'll help take your mind off this whole Captain America thing," Sam smiled.

"What about James? I can't leave him here," Maddy sighed.

"Of course you can! The boys absolutely adore him," Sarah spoke up.

"Are you sure?" Maddy asked.

"Absolutely!" Sarah smiled.

"I don't know how to repay you," Maddy replied.

"You can repay me by helping my brother.... rebuild our family boat," Sarah said.

"Of course," Maddy smiled.

"Great! We leave tomorrow morning," Sam smiled.
