Steve and Maddy walked to the edge of the lake....

"Why didn't you stay behind?" Maddy asked, turning to look up at Steve.

"I thought about it, but I realized something.... leaving you behind would've been my biggest regret," Steve sighed, looking down at his sister.

"I would've understood.... you loved Peggy," Maddy said.

"But I love you more! Your my baby sister," Steve smiled.

"Oh Steve!" Maddy replied, pulling Steve in for a hug.

"Besides that life is over.... Peggy is in the past. I can't live in the past anymore," Steve said.

"Time travel has made you wise," Maddy laughed.

Steve walked over towards a nearby tree, lifting up a circular bag....

"It's time for me to move on.... and by that I have something to tell you, over the years of living in this century......I've met someone. Goodness Maddy, she's amazing! You'll love her! She's different... she's a little like you.... hot headed," Steve laughed.

"H-How long have you guys been together?" Maddy asked.

"Not long! She's old school.... we've been friends for awhile, and recently I asked her to be my girlfriend," Steve smiled.

"Is it Sharon?" Maddy frowned.

"No," Steve laughed.

"Oh thank god! Well I'm sure I'll love her! When can I meet her?" Maddy asked.

"Soon," Steve said.

Steve handed Maddy the circular bag.... a grin formed on both of their faces.

"Steve?" Maddy asked.

"Open it!" Steve said.

Maddy slowly unzipped the bag.... which revealed Steve's Shield.

"I don't believe it!" Maddy smiled.

"I-I want you to have it," Steve replied.

"What?!" Maddy gasped.

"It's only right! You deserve it.... you're a complete bad ass. A good person," Steve smiled.

"But not a perfect soldier," Maddy shrugged.

"Maybe.... but you were born for greatness! And after fighting along side with you, it's clear that this shield was made for you. Not me," Steve said.

"What about Sam or Bucky?" Maddy asked.

"What about them?" Steve asked.

"Don't you think they deserve it more than me?" Maddy asked.

"No. I knew from the very first moment of us fighting against HYDRA..... that you were supposed to be Captain America," Steve smiled.

"Captain America? Are you sure? Seems a little masculine, if you ask me," Maddy laughed.

"This world needs A female Captain America..... a hero for the younger generation to look up too!" Steve smiled.

"The younger generation already looks up to me," Maddy laughed.

"And they should," Steve said.

Maddy slipped her hand into the strap.... pulling the shield up to her chest.

"How does it look?" Maddy asked.

"Amazing! As I said before.... it was made for you," Steve replied.

"If Howard and Coulson could see me now," Maddy smiled.

"They'd be proud," Steve said.

"What will you do? Now that you aren't Captain America anymore?" Maddy asked.

"Travel the world with my girl," Steve smiled.

Maddy looked up at Steve.... seeing how madly in love he was with this mystery girl.

"I hope she makes you happy," Maddy replied.

"She does! I couldn't ask for more," Steve smiled.

"That's all I've ever wanted for you.... you deserve happiness Steven," Maddy said.

"Thank you," Steve smiled, pulling Maddy in for hug.

They pulled away and turned to look at Bucky and Sam..... both smiling. Both very proud of the youngest Rogers.
