His Super Soldier // Bucky Barnes

Chapter 124

Steve flies the Quinjet towards mountains...Bucky sits behind him while Maddy paces back and forth.

"What's gonna happen to your friends?" Bucky asked, looking from Maddy to Steve.

"Whatever it is....we'll deal with it," Steve said.

"I don't know if I'm worth this, Steve," Bucky sighed.

Maddy stopped pacing, and walked over to Bucky...kneeling down beside him.

"You are worth this Buck! You may not see it now but you are worth everything to us....more to me," Maddy replied.

"Look, what you did all those years....it wasn't you. You didn't have a choice," Steve said.

"I know...but I still did it," Bucky sighed.

"You didn't have a choice, you were tortured....you were brainwashed," Maddy replied. 

Maddy grabbed Bucky's hand and gently squeezed it...and gave him a small smile, which he returned.

Steve lands the Quinjet besides a caterpiller truck.... on the remote icy mountain top, Maddy and Bucky walk over to a rack of guns, Bucky grabbed a light machine gun while Maddy grabbed a smaller gun.

Steve, Maddy and Bucky stand together, waiting for the ramp to descend.

"You remember that time we had to ride back from Rockaway Beach in the back of the freezer truck?" Steve asked.

"Was that the time we used our train money to buy hot dogs?" Bucky asked.

"You and Maddy blew three bucks each trying to win a stuffed bear.....you were trying to win over a redhead, while Maddy wanted one for herself," Steve laughed.

"What was her name again?" Bucky asked.

"Dolores! You use to call her Doll," Steve smirked, turning to look at Maddy.

"She's got to be a hundred years old right now,' Bucky laughed.

"Ugh whatever," Maddy frowned, hurrying off the Quinjet.

Maddy walked towards the entrance, shaking her head...hearing Bucky and Steve laugh.

Both men finally caught up to her....both smiling.

"I hate you both," Maddy frowned.

"Should we tell her the real story?" Steve asked.

Bucky nodded.

"Bucky tried making you jealous...so he asked Dolores if she would help him out. MAN! the look on your face when they were together was priceless, you were so mad," Steve laughed.

"It's true! I wanted to win you that bear," Bucky smiled.

"I don't buy it! You, Buck were always a flirt," Maddy said.

"Oh Maddy! Bucky has been in love with you since you beat up that kid...who threw me in a dumpster," Steve smirked.

"T-That kid deserved it," Maddy replied.  

"And Bucky! Maddy has been in love with you since the first day we all met," Steve said.

"That is so very true," Bucky smiled.

"I-We need to finish this...and then we'll talk after this," Maddy smiled.

"He couldn't have been here more than a few hours," Steve replied, changing the subject.

"Long enough to wake them all up," Bucky sighed.

Maddy leads them into a cast chamber....they all three travel down into the depths inside a caged elevator....they climbed in.

"This is a very tight space," Maddy frowned, squeezed up in the corner.

Steve and Bucky stood in front of her.... Maddy smirked and quickly grabbed Bucky's butt, causing him to jump.

Steve laughed.

"What was that?" Bucky asked.

"What are you talking about?" Maddy asked.

"Y-You just grabbed my....nevermind," Bucky sighed.

Steve opened up the large elevator door.... and they all walked out, checking their surroundings.

All of a sudden there was a loud thud behind them....they all spin around, Bucky and Steve pulled Maddy behind them.

"Oh come on!" Maddy mumbled.

"You ready, Bucky?" Steve asked.

"Yeah," Bucky said.

The elevator door opened.....reveling Tony. Maddy and Steve stare with such surprise, Tony walked towards them...taking off his helmet.

"You both seem a little defensive," Tony smiled.

"It's been a very long day," Maddy frowned.

Bucky kept his gun up...Steve walked towards Tony. Maddy tried walking around Bucky, but he stood still...as if he was glued to the ground.

"At ease, Soldier! I'm not currently after you," Tony said.

"Then why are you here?" Steve asked.

"Because I should've believed you. Also Ross has no idea I'm here.... I'd like to keep it that way. Otherwise, I got to arrest myself.

"You aren't wanted here!" Maddy growled.

"I'm sorry...Maddy, for what I said," Tony sighed.

"It's good to see you, Tony," Steve smiled.

Maddy grabbed a bullet from Bucky's pocket and threw it at Steve.

"OW!" Steve said, turning to look at Bucky and Maddy.

"We don't like him, right now," Maddy frowned.

"Anyhow! You too, Cap," Tony smiled, then looking over his shoulder and stared at Bucky.

"Hey! Manchurian Candidate, you're killing me. There's a truce here. You can lower your gun," Tony sighed.

Bucky lowered his gun....

Maddy frowned, and placed her hand on Bucky's shoulder...... Tony and Steve walked up towards them. Tony stared at Maddy, regretting what he had said at the airport...knowing he would have to keep his promise, knowing he couldn't lose her friendship...because she was family. Maddy avoiding eye contact with him.
