As Maddy walked out of the building she was held in...reporters crowded her.

"What happened to the Flag Smashers? When did the government make you Captain America?" One reporter asked.

"Is it still Miss America or Miss Captain America?" Another reporter asked.

"As much as I would love to answer questions...." Maddy paused taking a long deep breath.

When suddenly a group of men in suits rushed up to her, looking rather pissed.

"If you must know we appreciate you and Sam doing your part in dealing with these terrorists, now we'll do ours," One man said.

"Are you still going forward with resetting the borders?" Maddy asked.

"Our peacekeeping troops will begin relocating people soon...those terrorist set us back a bit," Another man frowned.

"Don't call them that," Maddy sighed, trying to keep her cool.

"Then what must we call them?" Someone from the crowd asked.

Maddy ignored them.

"Your peacekeeping troops carrying weapons are forcing millions of people into settlements around the world, right? What do you think they call you?" Maddy asked.

The men took a step back, looking rather surprised.

"These labels, terrorists, refugee and thug. They're often used around the question, why?" Maddy asked.

"Those settlements happened five years ago, do you think it is fair for the government to support them?" Another man asked.

"Absolutely," Maddy said.

"And the people who reappeared only to find someone else living in their family home, just so they can end up homeless?" Another man asked.

"You don't seem to get what we are doing," Another man frowned.

"I don't understand?" Maddy asked.

"Exactly! You don't...you are just a helpless woman," Another man laughed.

"I am a woman carrying the stars and stripes....before any of y'all were born. What I don't understand is every time I pick up this thing, I know millions of people hate me for it. Even now, I feel it. The stares, the judgement. And there's nothing I can do to change that...but yet I'm still here and all I want to do is be the hero all kids want to look up to," Maddy sighed.

Every one just stared at Maddy.

"But the question is, who's in the room when you make those decisions? Hmmm? Is it the people you're gonna impact? or the people who have money like you? I mean, this girl died trying to stop you and no one has stopped for a second and asked why. You all need to do better! Step up! Because if you don't then the next Karli will. And you don't wanna see the 2.0," Maddy said.

Maddy looked down and noticed she was still bleeding....she looked around and noticed some smiles and some glares, but at this point she didn't care. She was proud that she made an epic speech.

Suddenly...

"Let's hear it for CAPTAIN AMERICA!" A familiar voice cheered.

Which caused everyone around her to cheer as well...even those who didn't believe in her.

She followed the voice and noticed it was Sam.... Who was clapping the hardest and loudest, and standing beside him was Bucky.

Maddy pushed through the crowd and threw her arms around them both.

They pulled away and Sam looked down at her leg....

"You should probably get that checked out," Sam sighed.

"I'll be good! I'll heal soon," Maddy smiled.

"She won't go to the hospital, trust me," Bucky laughed.

Before anyone else could stop them... they disappeared down an alleyway.

"I know it's late and all... but I could use a cheeseburger," Maddy mumbled.

"Anything for Captain America," Bucky said.

"A cheeseburger sounds good but I think I'm gonna head home. Fighting bad guys was pretty exhausting," Sam laughed.

"Actually good point! Cheeseburger can wait tomorrow.... I'm r-really tried," Maddy yawned.

"Maybe because you've lost a lot of blood," Sam sighed.

"I'll be good! I promise," Maddy smiled, leaning on Bucky.

"We'll see you Sam," Bucky said, quickly picking up Maddy and carried her to the bike and drove home.
