His Super Soldier // Bucky Barnes

Chapter 119

Maddy and Steve raced up to the rooftop, seeing Bucky hop into the blue chopper that sat in front of them.

"Stay here! I'll get him," Steve said, sprinting towards the now rising chopper.

Steve grabbed onto the chopper.....the chopper struggled to gain any height. Steve's feet kick for traction then quickly gets them flat on the helipad, the chopper dragged him onto the mesh framing....Steve grabbed onto the railing with one hand and clings to the landing gear with the other.

"STEVE! LET ME HELP!" Maddy called out.

"NO!!" Steve snapped.

Suddenly the chopper slammed into the edge of the helipad, the rotor-blades are roughly smashed into pieces, Steve quickly ducked as the tail swings around. The chopper laid all twisted up on the mesh at the end of the pad.

Maddy's heart began to race....seeing that no one could ever survive that, not even a super solider.

All of a sudden Bucky's metal arm smashes through the glass and roughly grabbed Steve's neck, the chopper starts to slide towards the edge....the tail breaks off and falls into the river below. Bucky kept a strong hold of Steve as the whole chopper fell over the side.

Maddy raced to the edge.....with out any hesitation she jumped over, her body hit the water. She quickly swam to the surface and looked around....within seconds Steve appeared, holding an unconscious Bucky. Maddy sighed in relief and swam towards them.

"I thought I told you to stay back!" Steve said.

"I did! B-But when you both went over...I just couldn't think, I needed to make sure you both were alive," Maddy sighed.

"You don't ever listen," Steve frowned, swimming to the shore.

"Last time... you fell...you were unconscious, I couldn't lose you not again," Maddy replied, standing on the edge of the shore.

"But you left," Steve snapped.

Maddy snatched Bucky's unconscious body out of Steve's grip and lifted him over her shoulder.... slowly walking away from him.

"You'll never forgive me for that, will you?" Maddy asked.

"Not even less than 32 hours ago...you said you were with him, I'll need time," Steve said.

"You don't need time! You just wanna be pissed off with me!" Maddy frowned.

"That is not true!" Steve sighed.

"It is true!" Maddy replied.

"When we woke up after being frozen for so long....all I had was you. You were all I had to remember everything....you were all I had left of Bucky," Steve said. 

"We need to find a place to lay low...I'm sure Tony is pissed that we disappeared, with Bucky," Maddy sighed, quickly changing the subject.

"I'll go find Sam...stay here," Steve said.

"Why can't we go find a place then you can go find Sam? Because Bucky may wake up...and not be himself," Maddy frowned.

Steve nodded.

"I'm sorry! For keeping Bucky from you.....For leaving without saying a word. Bucky didn't want anyone to know, he just wanted time to find himself," Maddy sighed.

Steve turned on his heels and started to walk away, but stopped.

"I don't want us to keep stuff like this from one another, because I can't lose you too," Steve said, looking over his shoulder.

Maddy nodded, slowly walking behind him...trying very hard not to drop Bucky.
