A year has passed since Starlight. They've tried going back to their normal lives but things just aren't the same as they once were. That carefree feeling, the one they all used to have is gone. With Aphmau still back at Starlight they simply don't know how to be truly happy without her.
The aftermath devastated them all. So much changed after they all defeated the Demon Warlock that many of them are literally not the same people they were. Everyone but Aaron has nightmares and all are either emotionally or physically scarred from their time there.
Lucinda lost her ability to cast magic for a short time. She enlisted the help of her mother Hyria to regain some trace of her ability but it's been slow. As a way to cope she focused her attention on improving her potions to make up for the lack of magic even though potions were primarily responsible for everything that happened to them.
Kim was the least affected but she's still traumatized by the events. She still has nightmares but her relationship with Garroth has helped her look past it.
Emmalyn is constantly offering up bits of information. Kim continues to host the ancient spirit, accepting her presence and even welcomes it at times and her knowledge of magic and Lady Irene continues to help. Together they've been working with Lucinda at her potion shop as a way to be useful.
Katelyn still struggles knowing she was subjected to experiments as a kid and then forced to harm her friends as a side effect of the experiments. Aphmau is like a sister to her and it hurts knowing she had to leave her behind. During the last year she's focused her attention on reopening her self-defense studio with the help of her friend Nicole so that she can teach woman how to defend themselves.
Like Katelyn, Garroth also has trouble accepting he was subjected to experiments as a kid and used to harm his friends. Accidentally being turned into a werewolf hasn't been all bad. With help he learned to hide his ears and tail from view and went to work at his family's business, Ro'Meave Corporation.
Kawaii~Chan took more than six months to recover from the deep chest wound inflicted by Garroth. She's spent the last year focusing on rebuilding the Maid Café she started with Aphmau after their friend Gene turned it into a night club called Shadow Nights and accidentally burned it down that summer.
Zane still has trouble remember their names from time to time. Aphmau is his first best friend and misses her. He's helped his girlfriend Kawaii~Chan with the remodel and is still getting used to their new relationship. His brother Garroth tried to convince him to work at Ro'Meave Corporation as well but that's not where he wants to be.
Melissa completely recovered from her gunshot wounds but she's still having a hard time accepting the death of her parents knowing they gave their lives to protect their children. Hiding her werewolf identity, she quietly continues to run Lycan Corporation and has talked to Garroth about merging the businesses but her heart isn't in it like it used to be. She grew really close to Aphmau during that trip and misses her. Being engaged to Aaron they were supposed to become sisters. Aphmau made her promise to take care of Aaron and make sure he's happy. She's been trying to keep that promise because if she can help him remember himself, remember them all she knows he'll be happy.
Aaron still suffers from severe memory loss but his eyesight has improved so that most things are a simple blur and no longer grey hazy shadows and the void burns faded with the help of Lucinda's potions. It's clear he wants to remember and they have all tried to help but they still haven't found the trigger that will bring back the old Aaron. In the meantime, he's been helping out with the Café and caring for their dogs Celestia and Alexander and cat Eli.
Melissa took Aaron back to the house he shared with Aphmau. The hope was that as he healed the pictures of them all over the house would jog his memory.
Celestia, originally Aphmau's dog, clearly misses her but can be found constantly by Aaron's side. Along with Aaron's dog Alexander and their cat Eli, the three have helped to lift his spirits since he came home.
He wants to remember if not just for his sake but for everyone's. It hurts knowing he can't even remember his parents. The only ray of light is his memory of a girl named Shu he played video games with as a kid. He explained he doesn't know too much about her but he knows they were best friends. If he can find her, reach out to her, maybe she can help him remember.
Aaron and Melissa have tried finding Shu but they keep hitting dead ends. No one in the game knows who she is and he even texted her number but there hasn't been any response. He knows the number is still good otherwise the texts would bounce back but she's just not answering.
Right after the incident he could have sworn it had been years since he last spoke to her but studying the texts, he was still talking to her at Starlight and she might have even been there based on some of her answers. So why doesn't Melissa know her? Did something happen to her? He prays she's alright.
Travis still remains at Starlight under observation. Being a direct descendent of the Demon Warlock they want to make sure he isn't a threat. They said they would release him once they are certain but no time frame was given. They all miss him, especially Katelyn but they have no idea when or if he's coming home.
Aphmau is also still at Starlight. Despite her new werewolf abilities her injuries were so severe it wasn't safe to move her and the Guardian Force took advantage of it. Being a reincarnated goddess left them eager to study her. They promised she would be allowed to come home but they couldn't say when.
And here they all are now with two important pieces of Lover's Lane missing.

Like I mentioned I usually keep my Fanfics to myself so this is my first time in public so please be kind. I am probably older than anyone reading this. I kind of knew who Aphmau was before COVID hit. My youngest daughter is a devoted fan and when my marriage fell apart this summer we sat down and started watching Minecraft Diaries as a way to bond. I don't even remember the first couple of episodes but once I started paying attention I was hooked. I used to be a Garmau fan but I agree with her, Aarmau is better. Now she thinks I'm crazy :). I even started playing Minecraft and wish I had started years ago. I guess you're never too old. I wish Jason and Jess all the happiness and look forward to seeing what she has planned for the future.
