Watching her fall asleep Aaron can't image what he did to get so lucky or what he did to deserve such a gift. He's been lost this last year and didn't think he'd find himself again.

He knew something was missing besides just his memories but he didn't know what it was. He now knows it was her. It doesn't matter if he ever gets his memories back because as long as she's here he can make new ones.

He circles around the bed to grab the blanket Melissa had removed earlier and carefully covers her. As he tucks it in around her he stops to brush another strand of hair away from her face. She turns her face into his hand and he listens to her release a relieved sigh.

A soft ache begins to build in his chest and spreads outward like little pinpricks of light until he can feel it throughout his whole body. Tears burn at the back of his eyes with the intensity of it.

He briefly sees the image of him holding a younger Shu before him, "I want to start over, let me prove to you I'm not the jerk I've made myself out to be"...

Aaron freezes as the image vanishes. That one felt familiar! He closes his eyes and focuses on more than just the people in the vision. He studies the room and everything in it. He knows that room.

He walks over to the couch and rests his hand on the back of it to steady himself. The more he thinks about it the more things fall into place. He knows that was the music room at Phoenix Drop High. He knows that was the practice room he used to hide in during lunch. That's where he met the real Shu.

And just like that the barrier that kept him from remembering everything crumbles and falls away. Every memory both good and bad resurfaces causing him to drop to his knees.

He remembers his parents and the sacrifice they made, he remembers striking down and killing Blaze, he remembers watching Aphmau die....he remembers Aph! He remembers that little cat face she'd make, he remembers their first kiss, he remembers all the times they simply spent together. He remembers everything, he remembers his stupid little potato!
