Chapter 149

Aph is now too tired to care and watches Rowan circle around behind Zack as she reaches out and repeats the spell. He falls into Rowan's arms and a brief flicker of sadness rolls through her knowing their lives could have been much different.

She looks around her as Aaron moves to stand next to her just in case she blacks out. "Rowan, Katelyn, Lucinda, and Eric? Would you please take them to Hyria? She will help you move them to the Maze. Mom? You can go if you want but please remember, it's the Sacred Forest and without Hyria being there you can easily get lost. Garroth, Zane, and Gene? Please go to the high school and bring Garte back."

Sylvanna glares at Katelyn and Zack and then shakes her head, "I'm going to go get Zianna. She'll want to be here."

Aaron places one arm behind her and slowly shakes his head as she leans against him. They watch everyone clear the house and either go about the jobs they were assigned or simply go home.

When it's finally just Aph, Aaron and Melissa she finally gives in and slumps against him completely exhausted. Aaron growls at her as he lifts her into his arms and gently cradles her against his chest.

Melissa glances between them. "Aaron I know she's still recovering and all and these little sessions wear her out but you're being awfully overprotective of her and just a bit bossy."

Aaron raises his eyebrows at Aph as she rolls her eyes. Melissa sees this little exchange and is completely confused by it. Aph starts to make some random excuse but is simply too tired to think of anything good. "Melissa please don't say anything to anyone just yet but it's because I might be a little pregnant."

The look on Melissa's face is priceless and it takes a moment for the news to fully sink in. When it does her eyes light up and she starts crying. "I'm going to be an auntie?!"

Aaron sighs and shakes his head, "We don't know for sure yet but I don't want to take any chances."

Melissa giggles, "Right, right! I can't believe you told me before Kawaii~Chan! She's been shipping you two forever."

Aph moans, "We're all going to die."

Aaron laughs as he turns and heads for the stairs, "We'll be deaf first so at least we won't hear it coming. Aph needs another nap. Would you mind cleaning up?"

Melissa starts laughing so hard she grabs onto the counter to keep from falling over. She waves them on toward the stairs and nods because she can't draw enough air in to answer him.

They can still hear her giggling as they settle down on the bed. Aph glances up at him. "Aaron, it's too late for a nap."

Aaron shrugs, "Yeah but you'll probably fall asleep anyway. The quiet is nice and I wanted a little time alone with you. I want to hold you, is that alright?"

Aph smiles, "I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be than right here in your arms."
