Aarmau: Remember Me, Remember Us, Just Remember

Chapter 15

Sylvana crosses the room and almost throws herself on top of her except she's stopped by Celestia's presence, "Mija! I'm so glad to see you awake."

Aph smiles at her mother, "I'm happy to see you too mama'."

Eric crosses the room and offers Katelyn a hug and scowls at Travis, "Hey Sugar Pea! Travis..."

Katelyn hugs him back and chuckles, "Hey dad."

Gene rolls his eyes impatiently, "Yeah ok everyone's glad to see everyone else. I wasn't there so what about Irene? And why are you calling each other Shu and F.C.?"

Zane growls at Gene, "Irene doesn't matter right now Gene and besides Rowan here already told you about all that. Hey Aaron, isn't Shu the girl you've been looking for?"

The room grows quiet and all you can hear is Aph's heart monitor, "Yeah I was. Shu was my best friend in middle school and she's the only thing I can remember. We used to play this online game all the time and I thought if I could find her maybe I would start to remember. Last night I discovered Aphmau is Shu. I still don't remember Aphmau but Shu's a start."

Kawaii~Chan squeals, "I'm sure Aaron~Kun will remember Aphmau~Senpai. Aaron~Kun just needs more time."

Sylvana smiles at Aphmau, "I knew if we got you away from that horrible place everything would be alright."

Melissa frowns at something Aph had said earlier about the food they were feeding her, "Aph? You said you got sick every time you ate and you stopped eating because of it. You also said it was really sweet. What was this sweetness like?"

Aph shakes her head, "I can't describe it Melissa but I'm sure it would cause diabetes if you ate too much of it. And the stomach cramps were bad."

Melissa turns toward the nurse and pins him with a furious stare, "What were they putting in her food?"

After last night the nurse had hoped they wouldn't speak to him today. "Well, since she wasn't able to move I'm sure they would need to make sure she her meals were vitamin rich. This would make the food taste pretty awful so they add sweeteners to it."

Melissa steps closer to him, "What kind of sweetener?"

He steps back and bumps into Rowan, "Well, it could be anything. Sugar is used a lot or honey or bleached cocoa."

Melissa flinches as if she was slapped, "Bleached cocoa?! That's chocolate! Werewolves are allergic to chocolate. It's toxic!"

Yet again everyone looks at the nurse like they want to kill him, "Hey! I didn't do anything! I just started this job last night!"

Travis has always been good at piecing things together. "My Irene..."

He glances at Aph with an apologetic smile who returns it with a roll of her eyes, "Um sorry. They wanted her weak and they wanted everyone to think she was the problem. I don't doubt they planned it. She was seriously hurt after the fight and needed pain meds so they administered them by I.V. They did the same with the paralytic. Then they started putting chocolate in her food to make her sick so when she started refusing to eat everyone would think it was all her. When the paralytic fully kicked in everyone thought she was shutting down. The muscle weakness was just a natural side effect of her inability to move. If Sylvana hadn't insisted she come home she'd still be at that hospital and no one would ever know. Aph I'm sorry I didn't recognize what was happening."

The nurse sighs and hangs his head, "They don't pay me enough!"

They all glare at the nurse but Aph's soft voice draws them back, "It's alright Travis. I didn't know what was going on so I can imagine you wouldn't have known either. I'm home now so we can go forward from here? Now, breakfast smells amazing and I'm starving."

Having read a few stories I've seen some confusion with Mija. So I researched it. Both Mija and Hija can be used. Mi is my and Hija is daughter. I certainly can't speak or read Spanish despite taking it for 2 years but I read in English that Mija is a slang word that combines the two or for grammar nerds ;) it's a contraction.
