When Aph entered the private dining room she was extremely surprised to see both Rowan and Carter sitting at the end of the table. She glances at Melissa who looks as confused as she does.

As her eyes meet Rowan's he pushes to his feet and calmly joins them. He purposefully blocks Carter's view of them and Aph whispers to him. "Melissa said you and Carter wouldn't be joining us tonight."

Rowan nods, "We didn't plan on it but my business wrapped up faster than I expected. However, Carter is here only long enough to grab some dinner and then he'll be leaving for two whole weeks. His mother is sick and he has to go take care of her. I've convinced the Guardian Force we can manage without him until he returns so we don't have to worry about having someone new hanging around."

If Aaron hadn't been behind her to steady her she would have fallen on her ass. She releases a slow breath and smiles at Rowan, "Thank Irene. I'll tell my story after he leaves. If I'm going to do it here we'll need the servers out of the room and someone standing by the door to make sure they don't accidentally walk in. Otherwise, it needs to wait until we get home."

Rowan nods and heads back down to the other end of the table. She watches everyone glance her way with obvious worry and it bothers her that it's obvious she's not at 100 percent.

As she sits down next to Aaron the conversations that had been going on just before they came in pick back up and she quietly tries to listen to the bits and pieces she can hear. The longer she sits and listens the more relaxed she becomes and her mind starts to wander. She's so tired she doesn't even realize one of their servers is talking to her.

Even deep in conversation with Garroth beside him Aaron hears the snotty annoyance in the server's voice and turns to look at him. Aaron realizes the man is speaking to Aph and when he glances at her he notices she isn't responding because she's half asleep.

He feels guilty knowing she's exhausted because of him and now hearing this man talking to her with that type of attitude irritates him. Leaning forward he catches the server's attention and practically growls at him, "You can leave the room. We do not need you serving us tonight."

The server's jaw drops for a brief second before snapping shut and his nose literally rises in the air, "I'm sorry sir but you don't decide that."

Aaron looks at the man in complete shock and can't help but laugh at how stupid he sounds. He pushes to his feet to say something but Sylvana beats him to it. "Young man I will not have you speaking to my Mija' or my future son-in-law that way. You might want to leave now while you still have a job here."

One of the other servers closer to Sylvana rushes over to him and pushes him out of the room. When she comes back she quickly apologizes for his behavior and offers the table free appetizers to smooth things over.

Aaron can see that Aph is back with them again and embarrassed by her part in what just happened. He orders some stuffed mushrooms and asks the server to bring her a Poopsi. Hopefully, the caffeine will give her the energy to get through dinner.

Retaking his seat he gently places one of his hands over hers. He can see the hint of tears at the corners of her eyes and he's tempted to go find the man and beat the crap out of him.

Aph shakes her head, "That whole thing was all my fault."

Aaron growls low under his breath, "No it wasn't Aph. Do we speak to customers at the Cafe' like that? You did nothing to deserve that. If anyone's to blame it's me. You're tired and should be home sleeping."

Aph sighs, "I doubt my stomach would let me sleep for long. And we spoke to Ivan like that."

Aaron laughs, "But he deserves it, and technically you were a customer, not a server."

Lucinda overhears their conversation and nods, "Aph sweetie, don't you dare compare Ivan to what just happened. He goes looking for trouble. So how are the wedding plans coming?"
