Aarmau: Remember Me, Remember Us, Just Remember

Chapter 32

As the door shuts behind Gene and they finish securing the bandage on her arm, Aaron gently lifts her into his arms and carries her back to her bed. She has blood all over her clothes and bedding so Melissa runs upstairs to get something for her to change into and a new set of sheets.

When she comes back down she gently asks Aaron and Garroth to give them some privacy but he refuses to move. While Garroth goes into the living room to watch t.v. he simply turns his back long enough for them to change her clothes and then picks her up so they can change the bedding.

Katelyn puts the stained sheets and clothes in the trash because there's no way to get the blood out and then comes back into the room. Melissa and Katelyn quietly watch Aaron as he simply stares at Aph caressing the back of her right hand.

After several minutes Melissa clears her throat, "Aaron, what happened?"

Aaron's eyes shift away from Aph's face for the briefest of moments before moving back as he clears his throat, "We were working on her physical therapy."

Katelyn chuckles, "We know Aaron, why do you think we all left? Aph err Shu ugh whoever she is was enjoying it way too much."

Aaron blushes, "We talked about working on leg strength but she got upset when she couldn't sit up to put her legs over the side of the bed. She started crying so I, I hugged her. I don't know what came over me but I kissed her."

Katelyn sputters as she laughs. Melissa clears her throat but it's clear she's laughing too. "Did Shu kiss you back Aaron?"

Aaron growls and then sighs, "Of course she kissed me back but that doesn't matter! I should never have kissed her to begin with. She's in no condition to be molested by some idiot!"

Katelyn moves around to the side of the bed so Aaron could kind of see her, "Aaron, you are not an idiot. I don't doubt Aph err Shu err whoever she is kissed you back. I can't tell you how many times I caught you two kissing. It was sickening. She doesn't suffer from memory loss so as far as she's concerned you two are still engaged. I just ask that you consider her heart when you give into temptation. If you get her hopes up and things don't work out she'll be crushed. You don't remember but you both took a small break before the lodge issue and she was miserable. I don't want to see her like that again. How did Gene get involved?"

Aaron turns to look at Kaitlyn clearly considering her request, "Gene? Oh, I guess I was distracted when he came into the house. He pulled me away from her and I lost my balance and hit the floor. He was yelling at me about the way she was being treated."

Melissa smiles, "I bet you were distracted."

Aaron glares at Melissa and then glances at Aph as Garroth joins them and stands just behind Katelyn and Melissa, "How did she end up on the floor and what about all the blood?"

There is no way he's going to tell them what he saw, that's for Shu to explain so he tries to explain without saying too much, "Gene was standing in the way but I think Shu removed her leads to the monitor and launched herself at him. Her IV port must have gotten snagged by the covers and was pulled out. I'm not sure how she managed to get out of the bed though."

Katelyn shakes her head, "She can't stand to see any of us hurt. She was protecting you Aaron. Maybe adrenaline or something more? You know we joke about her being Irene but what if it's not a joke, at least not anymore?"

Melissa sighs, "We really don't know what happened to her on that cannon. Aph? Irene? It doesn't really matter does it?"

Katelyn shakes her head, "Not in the least. She's like a sister to me no matter what."
