Chapter 154

When she opens her eyes she can feel Aaron practically breathing down her neck and shakes her head. "I'm fine Aaron. Garte was yelling so loud it just startled me. Elizabeth got her hands on some of that stuff they were giving me to keep me asleep. Perhaps she was smart enough to realize a potion or spell used the wrong way could do more harm than good and Garte was her leverage."

She gently places her hand on Garte's chest just below his throat and closes her eyes. Within seconds his eyelids begin to flutter and he slowly tries to open them.

Garte groans as he raises his hand to block the light in the room. Aph turns to Aaron, "Would you please turn off the lights and close the blinds? He's been under for weeks so it's going to be a little bright."

Aaron nods as he turns to flick the light switch off and she watches Garroth pull the blinds at the window. Once the room grows dark she gently places her hand on Garte's arm and tries to push it down. "It's alright now, Garte. Try opening your eyes."

Garte drops his arm to his side and slowly tries to open his eyes again. He blinks a couple of times to clear his vision to try to adjust to his surroundings and then sees Zianna. "Zianna! You are the most beautiful thing I've seen in a long time."

Aph laughs as she slides off the bed so Zianna can take her place. Garte blushes as he glances at her and then looks back at Zianna. "Sorry, Aphmau. You're beautiful too, especially in all that darkness but well..."

Aph shakes her head as she backs toward Aaron, "I completely understand Garte. I'm glad you're awake. I know you have a ton of questions but they can all wait while you spend time with Zianna and the boys. They've been waiting for you."

Garte nods as he links his hands with Zianna's and both Garroth and Zane step closer. As she turns to leave the room with Aaron, Zane clears his throat, "Don't think you two are off the hook. You still have some explaining to do. We'll talk later."

Aph doesn't bother to look back as she moans, "You are not my father Zane!"
