Chapter 153

Taking a deep breath Aph's eyes return to normal and she lifts the spell. She can tell they all want to start talking again but they aren't sure how serious she is so they remain quiet.

Aph crosses to the bed to stand next to Garte and then sits next to him. "Was he awake at all?"

Garroth shakes his head. "No, we found him tied up and unconscious in one of the practice rooms."

She watches Zianna move around to the other side of the bed and sit so she can pull Garte's hand into her own. Aph simply studies Garte' for a few moments and then turns to Zianna. "Zianna, would you please stand over with Garroth and Zane? I don't want anyone touching the bed just in case this backfires."

Zane frowns, "Backfires?"

Aph shakes her head, "I'm not sure if this is a potion or spell yet. Elizabeth claimed to be good with magic but these things can backfire when you try to remove them and they weren't applied correctly. I don't want anyone too close."

Before Aaron can say anything Zianna interrupts, "Aphmau dear, could this hurt you? Because if it could then we can wait to see if it fades naturally."

Aph smiles at her. "There's still a lot I have to figure out but each day I'm remembering more and more. I know enough to be careful. I'll be alright."

Zianna sighs in frustration. "Sylvanna tried to explain everything that's happened to you but I still don't completely understand. We need to talk some time over tea."

Aph chuckles, "Or just talk to Zane. He loves tea and has a good grasp on the whole thing."

Zane groans under his breath, "Like I had a grasp on the whole expecting thing?"

Aph rolls her eyes and gasps, "I would have told you eventually. Oh dear, please don't tell Kawaii~Chan yet. If we all go deaf I can't promise I will be able to heal us all."

Garroth giggles like a little girl, "Oh yeah! I can almost hear her now."

Aph sighs as she shakes her head. She waits until Zianna joins Zane and Garroth and then pulls Garte's hand into hers. Slowly closing her eyes, she wills her mind to connect to Garte's and almost immediately recoils as she hears him yelling at her.

She must have physically flinched because she can just barely hear Aaron saying her name. At first, there's nothing but darkness and it takes her a moment to adjust to her surroundings.

Much like her dream, she starts to see Garte standing off in the distance and he's staring straight at her yelling at her. She shakes her head as she moves toward him and when she's finally standing in front of him she tries to calm him.

She gently touches his upper arm and tilts her head, "Garte' you need to calm down."

He shakes his head, "You're the first thing I've been able to see for weeks now, and damn you're a sight for sore eyes. I can hear everyone talking around me, about me but no matter how loud I yell no one's hearing me."

Aph shakes her head, "Elizabeth did something to you and you're unconscious. I'm trying to learn what it was that she did. It could be a spell or potion of some kind."

Garte glares off into the distance. "Or a drug. She injected me with something she said she borrowed from the Guardian Force. I can sometimes feel it start to wear off but she just keeps giving me more. How are you here and where's Elizabeth? She'll probably be back soon?"

Aph smiles, "You're home now and Elizabeth has been dealt with. A drug from the Guardian Force? It must be the same one they were using on me. I've got this."

Garte frowns, "What do you mean you've got this?"

Aph just laughs as she fades away and disconnects.
