Aaron nearly chokes on his laughter as Aph begins to cry. He glances back at Zane who shrugs in confusion and then turns to pull her into his arms.

Her whole body sags against him and it worries him. "Aph, what's wrong? You promised you'd be honest with me."

Aph tries to speak but her throat burns from the overwhelming need to cry. She did promise him but she can't tell him what she doesn't know for sure. "I'm just tired. I'll be fine after a good nap."

Aaron glances up at the sky and frowns. Pulling out his phone, he quickly calls Melissa and asks her to bring her car to the Cafe' so Aph can get a ride home.

After hanging up he helps Aph back to the employee lounge to wait and closes the door behind him to give her some privacy. When he joins her she stretches out on the seat and places her head in his lap.

She was lying when she said she was tired and could easily fall asleep if given half a chance. Aaron starts to gently run his hand along the top of her head and over her hair to calm her.

It's so soothing her eyes begin to close and within seconds she falls asleep. The sleep is so deep she doesn't hear Melissa come into the room, doesn't feel Aaron lift her into his arms or him climbing into the backseat with her.

She completely missed the whole ride home or Aaron carrying her upstairs to their room. When she finally resurfaces she can smell dinner coming up from downstairs and it's clear they're making hamburgers.

Her stomach growls and even though she's tempted to go back to sleep she knows she needs to get up. Throwing off the covers she crosses over to the restroom, cleans up, and then heads downstairs.

When she makes it into the kitchen she's greeted by two very hyper dogs and a clingy cat. She quickly offers them some love and then laughs as she tells them to play outside.

She's shocked when they do exactly what she told them to do and glances at Aaron as he smiles. "Looks like they've decided to start listening to you."

Aph shrugs, "I guess and I didn't even need to bribe them with food."

As she sits down on one of the stools she watches Aaron place his phone on her side of the counter and push the play button on his music app. The room quickly fills with the sound of Eternity and she offers him an appreciative smile and is glad he remembered.

Melissa turns toward her and frowns while Aaron continues making dinner. "So how are you feeling Pup? You slept for almost five hours. The only one I remember sleeping this much beside Aaron after the lodge, was mom when she was pregnant with Aaron. Dad had a hard time keeping her awake."

Aaron drops the spatula into the pan as Aph stares at Melissa in horror. Her heart starts to beat hard in her chest and she places her hand over it as if she can physically slow it down.

She glances over at Aaron as he turns toward her and then starts nervously laughing at Melissa. "I'm just having a hard time figuring out my limits. I think the walk to and from the store was just too much and yes I know you warned me, Aaron. It's so ridiculous because it wasn't like this before. I doubt Garroth is having a hard time adjusting."

Melissa shakes her head, "Actually, Kim complained about his sleeping habits a lot in the beginning. It took him 6 months to figure out how much sleep to get and how much he needed to eat to stay even. You were asleep for a long time and not only do you have to rebuild muscle and regain weight but you also have to learn those same requirements. The constant exhaustion makes sense now that I think about it. It's going to take you a while to figure it out."

Aph's relieved she redirected Melissa's line of thought with her explanation but when she turns to look at Aaron she can see he's not falling for it. Aaron holds the spatula out to Melissa, circles around the counter, and lifts Aph up into his arms.

Aph tries to protest but he shakes his head. "Melissa, would you please continue making dinner? I need to speak with Aph for a minute."
