Aph watched as Ivan dropped to his knees and began to sob. He begs her to give him back what is his but she shakes her head as she steps away.
As she turns to walk away she hears Aaron calling her name and she stops. She knows he's calling her from outside the dream and smiles at the love that fills her heart.
The gentle voice whispers again, "A power of darkness cursed the Ultima, and a power of light can remove the curse."
Aph gasps knowing she's that power of light, "What are the risks? Would it hurt anyone? "
The voice chuckles, "Calm yourself, child. Removing the curse would harm no one. Removing the curse would change no one. All werewolves would remain werewolves including him and by extension you. It would simply remove the mark from his soul and the soul of his offspring. He would no longer have to worry about accidentally turning another human or passing the curse onto his children."
Aph nods in understanding, "But he also wouldn't be able to turn an accidental change back to a human."
The voice hums, "That is true but he only has one accidental turn and I believe Garroth is content with his life now. Talk to him, talk to Garroth and decide. You'll know what to do when the time comes."
Aph sighs softly as the darkness around her turns to light and she slowly opens her eyes. She sees Aaron sitting on the bed beside her with a look of concern on his face and reaches up to gently run her hand over his ears.
Taking a deep breath she slowly releases it, "Why do you look at me like that Aaron?"
Aaron frowns, "When I came in I could hear your heartbeat Aph. You were having a nightmare and I wanted to be here for you. You seemed to calm down just before you woke up, what happened?"
Aph smiled, "I learned a few things about myself and I'm not afraid anymore. Hey Aaron, if the Ultima curse could be removed, is that something you would want?"
Aaron freezes hearing this, "Why do you ask Aph?"
Aph bites her lower lip, "A little voice whispered it might be a thing and that I should speak with you about it."
Aaron breathes deep and calms himself. He refuses to get his hopes up again. "A little voice Aph? It was just a dream. No one can lift the curse except the demon who placed it."
Aph can see the wall Aaron is putting up around him and it hurts a little that he's shutting her out. She shifts her eyes to stare at the ceiling. "There is one other person that can lift the curse, the person that gifted that demon with the ability to cast the curse in the first place."
Aaron sighs and clenches his jaw. He really doesn't want to talk about this but they promised to be open with each other. "And who would that have been Aph?"
Tears burn the back of her eyes as Aph looks back at Aaron. He's upset and she's the cause but she has to tell him. "Irene."
