On the way back to the cottage Aph has to fight the urge to look in Aaron's direction. She knows he isn't exactly thrilled with how that all went down but she thought it went pretty well.
Hyria falls in beside her and glances her way. "So where else did you go on your little adventure?"
Aph is quiet for several seconds and then sighs, "Everywhere, well except the Maze."
Hyria shakes her head, "And how many saw you?"
Aph ducks her head and visibly shrinks in on herself, "Most of the villagers. They all called me Lord Aphmau. They didn't seem surprised I could fly though."
Hyria slowly nods, "Because they were all aware of Lord Aphmau's connection to Irene. The statue in the village was made in honor of Irene and they couldn't help but notice how much they looked alike. I figured you'd want to visit them but I assumed it would be gradual."
Aph is still afraid to look at Aaron and she can feel her heart beginning to race just thinking of how he might react. Just when she thinks she's going to lose control Aaron grabs her hand, turns her toward him, and pulls her into a hug.
Hyria continues walking toward the cottage with Melissa in tow knowing they will need a little privacy. Melissa starts to argue but Hyria simply shakes her head and pushes her forward.
Aaron gives Aph a few minutes to calm herself. He listens to her heart and feels her breathing start to slow before leaning back to look down at her. "I'm not upset Aph. I know if I had interfered it might have been much worse. Seeing you go all Irene like that was actually exciting. How many guys can say they're marrying a goddess let alone Irene?"
Aph rolls her eyes and laughs, "I'm not really either of them but if you want to tell people you're having sex with a goddess who am I to argue."
The moment the words left her mouth, she became aware that they were alone in the forest. A sense of deja vu rolls over her as a memory of Lord Aphmau and Lord Aaron plays in her mind.
The temptation to repeat history is too great and it's a shame Aaron has no idea. She offers him a sexy little smile as she snakes her arms up over his shoulders and reaches up on her tiptoes to press her lips against his. Maybe they can have their only little version of swordplay.
Aaron can feel the sudden sexual energy rolling off of her and it instantly turns him on. He gives in to her quiet plea, parts her lips, and claims her mouth. Something about this seems familiar but he can't quite place his finger on it and he's not about to stop to figure it out.
He feels rather than sees the forest shift and change around him. Dense bushes, saplings, and vines grow around them creating a sort of bower and the forest floor thickens to form a soft, plush bed.
He carefully lowers her to the ground as the bower closes around them and little fireflies appear in its branches giving off just enough light so they can see each other. As he looks into her eyes he can easily see the love she feels for him.
A sudden memory pops into his head but he instantly knows it's not his. He's looking at Aph but she looks different and as he glances over he sees a couple of swords lying close by.
He doesn't know how, but he knows it's Lord Aphmau and her Aaron and if he's reading the situation right, her Aaron is about to get very lucky. He smiles as another memory pops into his mind.
They were at the lodge when Aph asked him what he did the last time they had been in the forest but he had been so confused, didn't understand. He silently laughs to himself and Aph raises her brows in question.
Aaron laughs harder, "Let me show you exactly what happened in the forest."
Aph laughs so hard she nearly starts crying. Aaron shakes his head at her and does the only thing he can think of to shut her up. He kisses her.
