Aph sighs as she glances around the room and then focuses on Rowan, "Rowan, I understand you had a talk with Carter and he agreed to run interference for us but I simply don't trust him. Maybe in time that will change but not yet. Despite the fact that Aphmau and her children created the Guardian Force they are not my friends. We will not speak of Irene, Aphmau, or anything of that nature in his presence. I will share what I can with you but not while he's around."

Gene looks confused, "But you are Aphmau."

Aph growls in frustration, "Lady Aphmau, Lord Aphmau, however many great grandmothers or whatever you want to call her. I'm just Aph."

Gene shakes his head, "This is so messed up."

Aph turns to Lucinda, "Lucinda, I need you to speak with your mother Hyria. I have a hunch but I need to speak with her to confirm it. Would you please bring her by the house?"

Lucinda nods and agrees to bring her by that afternoon. With that settled Aph relaxes against the back of her seat as Aaron and Carter step back inside the house.

As everyone settles around her she listens to their conversations as she picks at her food. She didn't think she'd be that hungry but before she knew it her plate was empty and she didn't even need Aaron's help this time.

To think two days ago she was trapped in a hell she couldn't escape and no one had a clue. It's hard to believe so much has already happened since she was freed. Aaron's memories have returned, their relationship has taken a turn she never would have seen coming and she already feels stronger. A part of her is afraid that none of this is real. Could this all be a dream?

A small trickle of fear rolls through her and she glances over at Aaron. His eyes meet hers and she blushes when she realizes he was watching her. She self-consciously reaches for her orange juice and lifts it to take a drink.

She swears under her breath as her hand begins to tremble and the glass begins to tilt. Just as she thinks she's going to spill it all over herself Aaron reaches out and steadies her hand. She reluctantly meets his eyes and sighs in defeat.

After helping her with her drink Aaron places the glass back on the tray and then sits on the edge of her bed. "What's wrong Aph?"

Aph shakes her head, "Nothing and yet everything. It hasn't even been a full two days since I woke up and I feel like things are moving too fast yet not fast enough. One minute I feel strong and ready to do anything and the next I can't even take a damn drink. And us, we've known each other forever and in the few years we've been dating we never went past making out and then last night? How do I know that I'm not dreaming? I'm still afraid this isn't real and I'm going to realize I'm still trapped in that hell."

Aaron frowns, "I'm sorry Aph, I should never have let things go as far as they did last night, especially after the nightmare. I promise it won't happen again until you're fully healed. If it helps, I threw Balto through the classroom window on the first day of werewolf class."

Aph quietly laughs, "Ok let's not start talking crazy or anything. If this is a dream at least they made parts of it spectacular and I doubt they know about Balto. I don't know, I feel like a yo-yo."

Aaron nods, "Aph, you keep forgetting you're a werewolf now. We heal much faster than humans and can go through some crazy mood swings. The hardest part about a bad injury, especially if it's a broken bone, or in our case, many broken bones is feeling it heal. Luckily we were both unconscious for that part. Your only problem now is strength. Physical therapy is great but even if all you did was follow a normal diet your muscles would rebuild themselves in time. We're just naturally strong on our own. You'll be up and moving around in no time. Of course, we're still going to work on physical therapy."

Aph laughs again, "Lucky me."
