Chapter 144

Zack frowns, "No thank goodness. He was a little off even as a kid so I'm glad to say he wasn't mine. How in the world did all you kids get mixed up with him? I lost track of him after I was sent to that damn prison realm and then suddenly he showed up at Starlight."

Rowan shakes his head, "Then why did both Derek and Garte say Ein was your son? They are both very smart men and weren't likely to get something like that wrong."

Zack nods, "That's true but they didn't know. When I first told them about Ein I still believed he was mine. By the time I learned the truth the partnership was dissolving and we weren't exactly speaking."

Aph glances at Aaron to see he's just as relieved as she is. "I've known Aaron for a very long time. We met online when we were in middle school but didn't meet in person until my freshman year. We didn't even realize it at first. As a senior Aaron became the Alpha male of our werewolf class and made me the Alpha female. When he left for college he hadn't chosen a new Alpha male yet so that left me in charge and sadly I sucked at it at first. Then Ein showed up and offered to help. Thanks to Ein telling everyone I was his girlfriend and a misunderstanding between us Aaron thought we had started dating so he made Ein the new Alpha. Ein's lies caught up to him and they learned he had been the one to nearly beat Kaitlyn's brother Kacey to death so he was expelled from school and sent away. Aaron and I didn't start officially seeing each other after I got out of college. Then Derek and Garte went in together on that lodge and sent Aaron and Garroth up to clean the place up. I went up to surprise him and it was literally a nightmare after that. Ein was working with some warlock trying to make the Forever potions. I now realize it was Michael. Ein was sick. He claimed he was in love with me and used a couple of Forever potions on me. One was to make me love him and the second was to attack and kill Aaron. He almost succeeded but Aaron got through to me. That leads us up to Starlight."

Zack is quiet for a few moments. "Alpha female huh? I had no idea he was bothering you. Michael was still linked to Terrance, Travis' dad, and that's how we finally escaped that damn realm. I don't doubt he had been grooming Ein through that same connection. That boy was psychotic and he was Michael's little lap dog at Starlight. But why the infatuation with you? He acted like he hated humans and I know you did not inherit the werewolf gene Aphmau but yet here we are and what about those eyes?"
