Melissa helped Aph back to the house so she could take a small nap before heading to the restaurant. Aaron wanted to be the one to take her home but Melissa told him he had agreed to help out at the Cafe' so he had to stay and finish his shift.

Aaron wasn't too happy letting Aph out of his sight but he knew Melissa was right. When they made it home she slowly climbed the stairs to their room and growled under her breath.

She had briefly forgotten Melissa was still behind her and jumped when she started to speak. "What's wrong Aph?"

Aph shakes her head. "I don't like being weak. I don't like getting tired so easily. It's hard getting things done if you need to take a nap all the time."

Melissa frowns and then sighs, "It won't always be like this. I know what they said about you being as close to 100% as you're going to get but I think that's bull. You'll get stronger Aph in time but until then you can't give up. Remember, you were a vegetable just a few weeks ago."

Aph chuckles, "I'm never giving up, I just don't like the inconvenience. You miss out on things when you sleep."

Aph quickly uses the restroom and then settles down on her side of the bed. Melissa watches as she closes her eyes and within seconds falls asleep.

Aph wakes to complete darkness and for a moment she thinks maybe they had changed their minds or worse, left without her. She quickly realizes not only is there no light but there are no sounds either. She's still asleep.

Her heart starts to race because even though she knows she's still asleep and this is just a dream she doesn't want to see what's coming. She hasn't had a bad dream in weeks so why the freak is she here?

Suddenly Ivan materializes before her and the look he gives her sends chills down her spine. She watches dark figures materialize beside him and they look to be dressed like some kind of anime cult.

The figures spread out and begin to circle her as Ivan steps closer. His eyes vanish and all that's left are dark black holes as he begins to speak. "Hello, my little prey. You have something I want and you're going to give it to me."

Aph's heart skips a couple of beats as fear begins to paralyze her. The closer he gets the faster her heartbeats.

Tears burn at the back of her eyes and she struggles to think of a solution. Just when she thinks it's hopeless a gentle voice whispers behind her. She instinctively knows it's Irene and a gentle warmth fills her soul. "We are a lot like the Ultima Wolf child. We can give magic and we can take it away. All you need to do is find the source and either stop the flow or absorb into your own."

Aph frowned, "But you were a mortal. Surely magic existed before you."

She feels a soft touch on her shoulder, "Just like the Ultima is the beginning of all werewolves, I was the beginning of all magic as you know it. I was the only one with the ability to manipulate the natural energies in our world and I gifted that ability to others, taught them to use it. The demon that cursed the Ultima abused the gift I gave him."

Aph didn't even need to ask the voice how to take Ivan's magic, she just knew. As Ivan stepped in front of her she reached out, placed her hand over his heart, and drew the magic from his soul.

The moment the last of his magic passed from him to her his eyes turned a soft grey, the dark figures vanished and the dark swirling energy that was his aura calmed. He looked at her with horror in his eyes as he cried, "What have you done to me?"

Aph felt sorry for him and gave him a pitying look, "I took back the gift you were given."
