There are obvious gaps in his memory, things he should know for certain but when he thinks too hard all he gets is static and vague recollections. Aphmau says she knows everything and that he told her in his sleep. But how?

Either those investigators forgot to mention several things, like the fact she was a werewolf which should be impossible, or something happened that he doesn't know about, or perhaps something was removed.

Right now his only option is to go along with this, whatever it is. Hopefully, she'll clarify a few things for him.

At that exact moment, they all listened as Aph's stomach growls and he fights to keep a smile from spreading across his face. "Look, you're clearly hungry. From what I gather you know a lot about what I've been up to and I seem to have issues remembering some details. Hell, there are things I knew nothing about and am interested in hearing what happened, like you being a werewolf and what was with those eyes. You want to know about Garte and yes, I might know where she took him. Since you plan on sending me to some prison by the sound of it I think I'll stretch this visit out as long as possible so let's talk while we eat. You tell me what you know, I'll fill in anything you might have gotten wrong, and then I'll tell you where to find Garte. I personally don't care about Elizabeth but when you confront her, be very careful because she's learned a lot about magic."

Aph's stomach growls again and she sighs in frustration but finishes off with a little chuckle. "We can talk over dinner, I mean that was part of my plan anyway. Remember you've already shown me quite a bit so be careful what you try to correct. I admit I didn't look too hard but I'll know if you're lying. As for Elizabeth, she should be more worried about me, after all, I already removed the tracking spell she had on you. As far as she knows you aren't here thanks to a little bird I transferred the spell to. Right now, she's probably trying to figure out what in the heck you're doing."

Zack frowns, "How did you manage that?"

Aph gives him a sweet and innocent smile. "But Zack, that's part of the story.
