Chapter 143

Aph glares at the backhanded comment. She hears Eric growl at Zack from the other room and her mom trying to calm him.

She glances at Aaron to find him glaring at Zack and gently brushes her thumb over the back of his hand. He turns to look at her and visibly relaxes when their eyes meet.

Aph sighs as she pushes her food around her plate. "Well, I know you cheated on mom with another woman and had a child with her, Ein. Mom kicked you out and you abandoned us after that. During that same time, you were working on Forever potions and experimenting on children. When that whole mess literally blew up in your face, you, Michael, and Elizabeth were pulled into a prison realm and spent several years there. Somehow you managed to free yourself but I couldn't see exactly how. I got the vague impression Michael started up the Forever potion idea again after you came back and you've been working on that while posing as a physical therapist. I believe the Celestial Cannon came into play because Michael was the Demon Warlock, the Cannon was part of Irene's civilization and he hated her. I know he was trying to get to her realm. From what the Guardian Force let slip, it also had something to do with the Ultima Werewolf. Michael thought he had found it and used it to gain the power he needed to break into the Irene Dimension but he was wrong. While it was on that island it wasn't who he thought it had been. A lot of people were hurt because he had made a big mistake. In the end, the Guardian Force destroyed the animal and we're all now picking up the pieces."

Zacks fork stops in midair. She does know a lot but there are gaps in what she knows and his memory is strangely foggy. How did his daughter get caught up in all of this? He takes a big bite of his food, shakes his head, and wiggles the index finger holding the fork at her. Hopefully, she'll tell him. "That isn't exactly true. Ein wasn't mine and I had been friends with his mom long before I met your mother. With Michael's help, she tricked me into thinking we had slept together and then ran crying to Sylvanna. By the time I figured out the truth it was too late. I could tell that boy wasn't right from the beginning so I'm grateful he wasn't mine. I have so many questions and I'm having trouble remember a few things. How in the hell did you get caught up in all this? You used to play with Garroth, Katelyn, and Zane when you were little but that stopped when you moved away with Sylvanna so how are you all friends now? How did you meet Aaron? Derek kept him hidden away but I can't remember why so you two never had the chance to meet. And your friends with Travis? You know he's connected to Michael?"

Aph flinches, shivers, and then relaxes as tears fill her eyes. "Ein wasn't my brother."
